Rev. Chris McArdle is a strong supporter of our public schools.

Our schools serve every child in our community, no matter their background. They are one of the few places left where all children are welcomed, cared for, and given the chance to learn.

That is something worth protecting.

After $22 million in cuts, parents, caregivers, and community members are coming together to fight for the strong public schools our kids deserve.

We are collecting signatures to put school funding questions on the ballot so voters can decide whether to stabilize and strengthen Anoka-Hennepin schools.

Our schools belong to all of us, and our community deserves a voice in their future.

Member testimonial 📣

As the wife of an Anoka-Hennepin teacher and the mother of two kids who will attend schools there (one starting kindergarten in the fall, the little in the pic is still a few years off), I’m firmly invested in the fight to fund and support our public schools. I know first hand how the lack of financial support for teachers can impact their family at home. Switching insurance plans (to mine), both of us having part-time work and the energy drain that occurs. I also know how the lack of support for teachers in the classroom (coaches, social workers, paras, etc) takes away from a teacher’s ability to teach (and everyone’s opportunity to learn).

I worked in a middle school myself (as a behavior analyst/BCBA) and was cut due to lack of funding. And I left behind a group of students that relied on me (I was even jokingly called “mom” by a few!) and the time I had to support them when they couldn’t stay in the classroom. One of my biggest concerns is that if we don’t continue to fund our public schools, the students who need that extra support or care (the ones that others tell you should just be sent out of the room or home), won’t get it. And without it, they won’t be able to learn. They won’t be able to access the education they deserve. My kids won’t be able to access the education they deserve.

I want the best for my kids, the district’s kids. I think we all do. Or at least I hope we all do. And that’s why I support putting a levy on the ballot in the fall and the work that Parents for Good is doing. I believe in Strong Schools creating Strong Communities. And I hope you’ll join us in this fight. Because it’s worth it 🍎💛
