So I hear Harlen Shemwell seems to be telling folks not to attend the sxs event. No telling where the money might go since he's running it?
Hmmm
Every penny we raised last year, $1060 to be exact, was donated to the roads, every penny! That doesn't include the prizes we raffled off, bought out of pocket.
Then, they did a half ass job on the roads...and yes, that money was in the pot.
Telling people not to attend or entertain an effort to raise money for the community and trying to portray the person putting in the effort as unreliable? Maybe he needs to take a look at himself before pointing a finger lol

Sorry for the drama folks. Haven't we all had enough of this?
Come out on October 11th, we already have a nice turnout expected. Every penny we raise will be spent towards gravel, whether it is $100 or $1000. Also, the dues they say we owe, $180 will also be spent towards gravel. You know what the difference will be...I will have my receipts for the community to see!
Keep my name out of your mouth Harlen. You want to play your little POA out, whatever, but leave me and my name out of it.

October 11th at the beautiful Black River Bottoms. A family event!
Trick or treat theme, so bring candy for the kids.
$5 to ride, per person and there will be a 50/50 drawing. The $5 to ride will be 100% donated to a local community to buy gravel for their roads.
Donations will also be accepted to give to the Missouri department of conservation. This is to help maintain this beautiful area so we all can continue to enjoy the trails along the beautiful Black River
Returning from last year...the keeping it clean raffle. Show your trash bag, hauling out what you brought in (or more) will get you entered into a raffle for a prize.
We will be making several stops along the trails to pass out candy. There will be river stops and even a cave.
We will meet at the Funk Branch Delta for registration. Download the OnX off road app and search Black River Bottoms trail for directions.
If you are trailering in, Black River Hideaway has a beautiful rv site and cabins. Trying to contact them to arrange day parking like last year. Will update when details for that when lined out.

We received a bill today - and I called my Lawyer...

He advised the following:

It does not seem to be a legitimate corporation - He highly suspects there is Criminal Fraud and Civil Suits that can be filed. He does not know for certain - without much investigation and legal cost - but he highly suspects there was no right for Chevron to even instill a POA - as this would have required 100% agreement from Deeded land owners.

The attorney has suggested we each contact Iron County Prosecutor office and the Missouri Attorney General - now that Les, Harlen and Andy are actively trying to get money from the land owners. This may be considered Extortion due to the lack of transparency.

I am sorry to this community for having played any part in this, but I alone can not undo this. It will require each of you to also be active.

"Just so people know. This is the bottom of the dam at walnut lake. There is a massive hole with steady water coming out of it. The middle of the dam road is sunk more each day. This happens when land developers refuse to maintain the lakes/dams. Its on the verge of busting. That is why it is blocked off. Josh is very concerned it will go when driven across. However, certain individuals complained to bill and red that they're having to drive around, even though they retired.. red says she is going to sue Josh for blocking it off, even if it is for safety. SO.. it will be opened back up. And if you fall through, well, that's on you and red."

I am Asking you all to call and log a complaint with the state below and push for them to hold Chevron accountable for repairs to this dangerous dam!

I have heard through a few Neighbors that the POA people are having a meeting this upcoming Saturday July 12, assumingly at 5pm.

Both Brent and I will be there and we will be looking to see if we can establish close to a quorum and petition to vote the POA closed or as an alternative, plan a vote to remove all current Board members and determine what to do next as a community.

We can not sit by and let anyone ----anyone, come into our community, our investment, our lives and display behavior that acts superior or as if they have any given power over our property or our rights.

That is not what a POA is - and these guys are ruining it for everyone by their self serving and inconsiderate behavior and actions. They are in breach of Non Profit Corporation Law in the state of Missouri and they will continue to escalate their pretend control if we allow it.

This is not "Their POA"....
This is not "Their Development"....
They are NOT "The New Chevron"....

They are people we trusted to keep documentation for us, spend our money the way we all said it was to be spent and to organize all of us to have meetings and positive conversations on OUR COMMUNITY!

Please show up and stand up together as a community....

The community conversation yesterday went as expected. Even though it was specifically asked for Les, Andy and Harlen to not come and give us an opportunity to discuss concerns without them present - Andy and Les refused and came anyway.

🤣🤣 Well, while Les was too much of a coward to come in person, he sent Andy and had him call and hold the phone in the air 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What a joke!

To me this is another great example of how low the character of these people are!

Ultimately, the majority agreed we need to include a vote to abolish this sham of a POA and protect ourselves and our investment from these opportunistic con men.

We need to make sure we insist this is included in the next meeting which rumor has is September. Call Les, Harlen and Andy, relentlessly...and insist on this being included.

If Les continues to refuse any member requests for the documentation of the road and payments - he is breaking the law and we can sue him and hold him financially responsible for the legal fees. Continue requesting the documents. Every failure is another occurrence of breaking the law and is in our favor.

There was also significant concerns about how Les Harlen and Andy spent likely near $1000 of our money to buy the Storage Shed business a culvert that is two times the size needed, and paid for installation - without any discussion with the community and without having the storage shed business put in any money.

So when you wonder why no gravel, why no crown on the road, well it's because he gave our money away!

Another day and Les, Harlen and Andy still have not provided the legally required documentation:

-Whos bid was accepted
-Who approved the acceptance
-How much was bid for
-How many hours was that including
-How many hours were actually spent on the road
-What materials were included
-Who got paid and when
-How much were they paid
-A bank statement showing all activities for 2025 to date
