The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Inspiring & enabling young people to reach their potential as productive responsible caring citizens When School is out, Clubs are in.

BGCAA serves more than 2000 youth a year with three Clubs in Annapolis, one in Pasadena, one in Glen Burnie, and two in Severn. Membership is only $25 a year and no youth is ever turned away due to lack of funds. We are open after school and during critical out-of-school hours. We also provide summer camp programs at all six of our Clubs. Our mobile program, Club on the Go, serves youth who might not otherwise have access to a physical Clubhouse.

Creativity, connection, and a little time to recharge. 💙✨

Twice a week this summer, volunteers from Good Girl Market Studio joined us at the Club through their Well Made Project, bringing a unique mix of creativity and self-care to our members.

From hands-on projects to wellness experiences, each session gave our youth an opportunity to try something new, express themselves, and have fun in a supportive space.

Some of the summer highlights included:
🍦 Making their own ice cream
🎨 Painting with local artist Kim Hovell
🧘 Reiki with Mia Moon Creations

A huge thank you to Good Girl Market Studio and all of the local artists and creators who helped make these experiences possible for our Club kids this summer. We’re so grateful for this partnership and excited to keep it going into the school year! 💙

BGCAA Clubs will start sessions on Monday August 31st. We are excited to see you next week!

Here’s to new beginnings, new friendships, big goals, and plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and shine. We can’t wait to see all that our Club kids accomplish this year!

Meet the Team: Jamey Hein, BGCAA’s Chief Development Officer 💙

With nearly three decades of experience as a nonprofit leader, educator, and mentor, Jamey has built his career around helping young people and communities thrive.

From beginning his career in the classroom to leading schools and advancing fundraising and community partnerships, Jamey brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for youth development to BGCAA. Throughout his career, he has helped secure more than $6 million in gifts and grants supporting education, youth development, and organizational growth.

As our Chief Development Officer, Jamey is helping BGCAA strengthen partnerships, expand our fundraising efforts, and share the incredible stories happening across our Clubs so we can create even more opportunities for local youth.

We’re so excited to have him on Team BGCAA! 💙

💙 We’re incredibly grateful to DICK’S House of Sport for choosing to invest in local youth as they open their new Annapolis location!

As part of their commitment to the Anne Arundel County community, DICK’S selected BGCAA as one of the local organizations to receive their generous support - an investment that will help us continue creating opportunities for thousands of young people to learn, grow, and thrive.
But what makes this especially meaningful is that it’s about more than a donation. It’s the beginning of a partnership rooted in supporting kids and strengthening our community.

As our CEO, Dr. Kenneth McCants-Pearsall, shared with the Capital Gazette: “It’s not just them giving us a check, but it is the start of a mutually beneficial partnership for years to come,” McCants-Pearsall said. “It was really humbling that of all the places they could have given a donation, they chose us.”
