Founders' Day celebrates our PTA founders who came together over 129 years ago to with a mission to "better the lives of children in education, health and safety." We use this day to honor our PTA Founders, celebrate our local PTA leaders, and champion all those that support the PTA in their local schools.

This fundraiser will support our many programs including the Future Leaders Scholarship, the annual Reflections Arts award program, Mini Grants for compliance help, and our numerous community outreach events.

Every dollar raised helps our PTA pour right back into the community. Your support is paramount to our success in our number one mission of Every Child. One Voice. Thank you!

The Anne Arundel County Council of PTAs (AACCPTA) is proud to announce the recipient of our $5,000 Future Leaders Scholarship — Ava Johnson of Arundel High School!

This scholarship recognizes a graduating senior from Anne Arundel Public Schools who demonstrates academic excellence, strong leadership, and a commitment to pursuing higher education.

Ava truly reflects the mission of AACCPTA, making every child’s potential a reality. An outstanding student with a 4.54 GPA and a rigorous course load, she plans to attend Northwestern University to pursue a career in pediatric medicine focused on addressing global health disparities.

As Vice President of her school’s Interact Club, Ava helped lead initiatives that raised over $24,000 to support a Kenyan sister school funding vital resources and improving access to education and water. Her leadership shows a deep commitment to service and global citizenship.

Through hospital internships, mentoring, tutoring, teaching dance, and community service, Ava has demonstrated compassion, initiative, and a passion for helping others. As one recommender shared, she is “a young woman of remarkable intellect, discipline, and integrity.”

Congratulations, Ava! We are proud to support your journey and future impact.

AACCPTA has reluctantly decided to postpone our Founders Day dinner until next February. Interest was low so we will start planning earlier for next year’s. We hope to have it close to the actual PTA Founders Day of February 17th. Refunds for those who bought tickets for May 1st will be sent out soon. Nomination forms for Outstanding Volunteer, Teacher, Principal and Staff member were compiled. We will have announcements in early May for those selected.

We will also hold our online raffles as planned. We are grateful for all our generous donors. Each raffle basket will list the business or individual who donated to that basket and the businesses will be posted on our website and included in our promotional emails that will go out. The raffle page will go live this weekend and the campaign will end on May 15th.
