AACC PTA will NOT be holding a General membership meeting in June.

Our first two Financial Review Workshops are scheduled in July and August. Here's the link -

More workshops will be scheduled in the fall. We try to hold them at different libraries around Anne Arundel County to accommodate as many PTAs as we can. When it is closer to September, we will add that date in this Sign Up Genius.

Please check your emails! I just sent emails out to 23 PTAs that need to complete their Annual Report/PPR through Maryland Business Express. The State of Maryland will list your PT(S)A as Not In Good Standing if you don't complete this filing by April 15th every year. If not completed prior to the second year, your PT(S)A's Incorporation will be forfeited. Also, upload those documents into Givebacks under Compliance >>Submit Forms. Important End-of-Year Reminders
As we approach the close of the 2025–2026 PTA year, Free State PTA would like to thank each of you for your dedication, advocacy, and service to children and families across Maryland. Your leadership has made a difference in your schools and communities.
To help you wrap up the school year, please review the following important end-of-year reminders to help ensure your PTA/PTSA remains in good standing and prepared for the transition into the new membership year.

Officer Updates
Please ensure your newly elected officers are entered into Givebacks as soon as possible. Accurate officer information is critical for communication, training access, and Standards of Affiliation compliance.

Financial Review/Audit
Local units should complete their required year-end financial review or audit according to their bylaws and financial procedures. This should occur whenever there is a change in treasurer or at the close of the fiscal year.

Transition of Materials
Outgoing officers should work closely with incoming officers to transition:
• Banking information
• Meeting minutes
• Financial records
• Membership records
• Passwords and digital accounts
• Bylaws and governing documents
A smooth transition helps set the next leadership team up for success.

Dues Submission
Please continue submitting membership dues promptly through Givebacks or via the membership form/check using USPS. Please make sure all outstanding dues are paid by June 30th.

Compliance Requirements
Please verify your unit is current with:
• IRS filings (990 series)
• Maryland SDAT requirements
• Insurance documentation
• Bylaws submissions
• Standards of Affiliation requirements
Units that are not compliant may risk losing good standing status.

Convention Registration
We encourage local leaders to attend the 2026 Free State PTA Convention on July 25–26, 2026. Convention provides valuable training, networking, and leadership development opportunities to help your PTA thrive.

Founders' Day celebrates our PTA founders who came together over 129 years ago to with a mission to "better the lives of children in education, health and safety." We use this day to honor our PTA Founders, celebrate our local PTA leaders, and champion all those that support the PTA in their local schools.
This fundraiser will support our many programs including the Future Leaders Scholarship, the annual Reflections Arts award program, Mini Grants for compliance help, and our numerous community outreach events.
Every dollar raised helps our PTA pour right back into the community. Your support is paramount to our success in our number one mission of Every Child. One Voice. Thank you!

I forgot to add these photos from the Mental Health Awareness Family Fun Day event! Thanks Kimberly L. Owens for your help at the fair. Thank you Kimberly and Abigail Pingel for taking care of the purchasing decisions for this Outreach Event. It was a very nice event with face painting, a caricature artist, photo booth, DJ and lots of groups sharing valuable information and resources.
