Seventy years ago, the murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till in Mississippi brought tragedy and heartbreak for many, especially his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley. Her response to show the nation what Southern whites did to her son showed America what truth and purpose must look like if we are to ever become a nation of liberty and justice for all. Today, in America 2025, our determination to uphold truth and to live with purpose must be the work of us all.

On November 23, the birthday of Mamie Till-Mobley, we honor, commemorate, and carry forward Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley in a four-hour teach-in live via Zoom from Money, Sumner, and Drew, Mississippi.

Please join us for learning, inspiration, and a call to democratic action. This event will conclude with an announcement by the Emmett Till Interpretive Center of national impact about Truth and Purpose in America in 2025.

FREE VIRTUAL EVENT on Sunday, November 23 at 1:00 - 5:00pm ET. Register: https://bit.ly/4oNjjvv

As in years past, this year’s MLMP annual conference presents a full day of powerful, thought-provoking, and inspiring presentations and discussions with experts, thought leaders, and artists.

Speakers and attendees will consider the history and truth of racial terror lynching in Maryland, its lasting effects, and the efforts around the state to confront the truth so that healing and reconciliation might begin.

Join us on October 25th: in-person at the Lewis Museum (Baltimore) or virtually.
