🚒🚓🚑 Pack 456 Heroes Night was a huge success!! 🚑🚓🚒

Pack 456 Cub Scouts 'Answered Adventure's Call' as they rotated through four amazing stations, getting up close with the everyday heroes who keep our community safe. Scouts climbed inside fire engines and rescue trucks, learned about the equipment these special trucks carry, tried on real firefighter helmets and turnout gear, practiced K-9 commands, and even got to work the Jaws of Life!

A huge THANK YOU to our Troop 288 Alum, Eagle Scout Jason Strauss, who helped arrange this awesome experience, and to his first responder friends and colleagues who made this night unforgettable for the Cubs of Pack 456!

🐾 Clinton Township PD – Sergeant Dixon and the K-9 Unit

🚑 South Branch Emergency Services – Chief Frank Setnicky, Jason Strauss, Jenny Sheppard, EMS Sergeant Jeff Jones, and EMT Owen Sharkey, with BLS 36-51 and Heavy Rescue 365

🚒 Annandale Hose Company – Firefighter Bob Emery and Squad 46

We are so grateful to these everyday heroes for volunteering their time to give our Cubs a night they'll never forget. 💙

Pack 456 had so much fun in our River Rangers class! We learned how to search for and identify macro-invertebrites, how which ones we find help show how healthy the river is, and what part they play in the fish food cycle. Our Cubs were excited to spend time in the river searching for these awesome creatures, then we headed back to the Asbury Mill to identify and examine them more closely. What a great way to build excitement as we get ready for our Pack Fishing Derby!

A big Thank You to the Musconetcong Watershed Association for hosting this awesome class for us!

Cub Scout from Pack 456 had a fabulous time at our council's Cub Scout Fish Camp!

The weather couldn't dampen the mood as our Cubs learned about fish and bait, made their own cane poles, learned the best knots for tying on a hook, and reeled in some big (in spirit, anyway) fish!

Thank You to the Scouts BSA Youth who planned, prepped, and ran this awesome event! It was a great example of youth leadership in action for our Cubs!

What a night for Homeschool Cub Scout Pack 456!

Our very first Blue & Gold Banquet kicked off with a visit from Eyes of the Wild and their amazing animal ambassadors. We had an awesome time learning about and visiting these cuddly (and not so cuddly creatures!

Then we enjoyed a delicious dinner before focusing on awards and celebrating all of the fun and learning our Cubs have had this year. A fantastic way to honor the Pack!

Pack 456 had an amazing time at Yukon Trail!

Our Cubs had a blast visiting all of the stations hosted by local Scouts BSA troops, learning and practicing scout skills, playing games, and completing challenges. Our Cubs did a fantastic job and came home with 9 ribbons to show for it! So proud of the hard work and teamwork our Cubs showed.

Pack 456 bundled up and enjoyed a great winter hike at Hoffman Park! Our Cubs spotted animal tracks in the snow, talked about how plants and animals survive the winter, and practiced some outdoor Scout skills along the way. Nothing beats learning outside!
