Michigan PAL Michigan PAL is a research laboratory at the University of Michigan dedicated to advancing our understanding of child and teen emotions and mood disorders

The Michigan Psychoneuroendocrinology Affective Laboratory is a research laboratory dedicated to advancing our understanding of child and teen emotions, mood, and mood disorders. It is housed at the University of Michigan Department of Psychology and is led by Dr. Nestor Lopez-Duran, an Assistant Professor of Psychology and active faculty at the Michigan Depression Center. At Michigan PAL, we are

currently examining how affective (emotional) and neuroendocrine processes may contribute to the development of depression and anxiety in children and adolescents. We hope that our work will provide key information about the biological and emotional substrates of pediatric mood disorders so that more effective treatment interventions are developed.
