ArtiFAKTs is an annual event that aims to showcase unique student artwork and perspectives. ArtiFAKTs aims to maximize student involvement by bringing together student submissions for an engaging, immersive gallery and experience. FOKUS has had a long history of success with this event, and in past years we’ve covered topics like industrial design, tattoo art, temporary art, and more. This year we hope to shine the spotlight on the profound relationship of Home and its varying, personal definitions. Please fill out this form if you are interested. Anyone who applies to submit art will be entered into a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card.

"The Draft" An Exhibition by Esmaa Mohamoud

Opening reception and artist conversation tonight (9/13) from 6-8pm at the Humanities Gallery (202 S. Thayer)

African-Canadian artist Esmaa Mohamoud investigates the intangibility of Blackness through issues surrounding Black representation and Black body politics in contemporary spaces. The Draft explores material and popular Black culture through the realm of athletics. With the use textiles and concrete, The Draft address the ways in which Black bodies navigate spaces as both visible, and at times invisible.
