AWiS-UM UM-AWIS is committed to the advancement of women in science and science-related fields. Membership is offered to both women and men who support these goals.

The Association for Women in Science is a national organization dedicated to achieving equity and full participation for women in science, technology, and engineering. AWIS is involved, both on the national and chapter level, in education, networking, lobbying government, and raising public awareness of opportunities and barriers for women in science.
