🙏 Will you pray with us?

Each week, we'd love to invite our LifeWise Ankeny community to intentionally pray alongside us.

This week, we're praying for our students.

Pray that LifeWise would be a place where they feel welcomed, known and loved.

Pray that God's Word would take root in their hearts.

Pray for great conversations and questions.

And pray that what they learn during LifeWise doesn't stay in the classroom—that they take it home, share it with others and continue growing in their relationship with Jesus.

We believe prayer matters. Thank you for covering these kids in it. ❤️

📖 TAKING LIFEWISE HOME | This Week's Lesson
This week, our 2nd-5th grade LifeWise students are learning about GRATITUDE as they discover more about God as Creator. ❤️

Here's what they're learning:
🌎 BIG PICTURE
Why did God create the world?
God created the world and everything in it for His glory.

❤️ JESUS CONNECTION
Everything was created by Jesus and for Jesus—and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16–17)

📖 KEY PASSAGE
"Our Lord and God, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, because You have created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created."
— Revelation 4:11

✨ LIVING LIFEWISE
Because God created everything, we can show GRATITUDE for Him and all that He made.

Take it home: On the way to school, around the dinner table or before bed, ask your child:
💬 “What's something God created that you're thankful for? Why?”

📖 TAKING LIFEWISE HOME | Middle School

Our LifeWise middle school students are digging into God's Good World this week and exploring what it means to know God as Creator.

Their lessons use three areas—HEAD, HEART and HANDS—to move from what they know, to what they believe, to how they live it out.

🧠 HEAD | God's Good World
God created all things good.

❤️ HEART | Jesus Connection
John 1:1–3 teaches that Jesus—the Word—was with God in the beginning and is God. All things were created through Him.
Jesus didn't simply enter God's creation later. He is the Creator, and all creation holds together in Him. (Colossians 1:17)

🙌 HANDS | GRATITUDE
To appreciate what someone has done or given to me.

Take it home: Try one of these questions with your middle schooler this week:
💬 How does knowing God is the Creator change the way you think about Him?
💬 If God is powerful enough to create everything from nothing, where in your life could that help you trust Him more?

❤️ A first day we've been praying for.

Last year, as our fifth-grade LifeWise students at Southeast prepared to move on to middle school, we began praying.
We prayed for an opportunity to follow them to Parkview so they could continue participating in LifeWise as sixth-graders.
God opened that door.

Last week, LifeWise officially began at Parkview Middle School, with 10 sixth-grade students enrolled! 🎉

We're so grateful these students can continue opening God's Word, learning about Jesus, and growing together during their middle school years.

🎉 LifeWise is back for Westwood Elementary!

What a great way to begin a new year of LifeWise Ankeny. ❤️
Last week, we welcomed our Westwood students back to LifeWise—and we've been excited to share a few glimpses from their first day!

Each week, these students have the opportunity to step away from their school day, open God's Word, learn about Jesus and grow alongside their friends.

We are so grateful for the families who have entrusted their children to us, the volunteers who make each week possible and, most of all, these incredible kids.
