I am so fortunate to use my storytelling and teaching skills to encourage children to use their voice in longterm classroom residencies. I’m working 2 mornings/week in preschool classrooms, 2 afternoons in an afterschool program, 1 morning in K classes and high hopes for working with a community org 1 afternoon/week in 2025 (both spring & fall semesters). That’s a lot of kids! A lot of surprises and smiles and, of course, story!
And, I still have openings for assemblies and classroom workshops. Contact me.

There something special about this organization that makes returning to tell stories and also work to help kids gain confidence in using their own voice a delight.

Here in Northeast we have storytelling conferences, a mix of workshops and performance. Down south this is the beginning of storytelling festival season where people just sit back and enjoy a stream of story washing over them making the laugh, gasp and tear up.
I had the immense pleasure of not only going but being a participant (New Voice) in Woodruff, SC Stone Soup Storytelling Festival. So many best parts:
Meeting and listening to tellers I’ve only come across in zoom-land;
The variety of stories (folktale, tall tale, original, personal narrative and some with not able to peg into one genre);
Seeing NH storytelling pal and legend Papa Joe Storytelling;
The warmth of hospitality immediately making me feel like a friend;
Yes, being able to stand up and tell my adaptation of a Ukrainian folktale to a new audience (every audience changes the telling);
Got a prize y’all - came in 3rd in New Voices;
And, taking a jaunt to Asheville, NC before going home (I’ll be back!).
Many, many gratitudes to the organizers and emcees who made this festival flow.

Began a 3rd Gr. Residency with a story. Mid-telling a student turned to teacher, “Are you LISTENING to this!?”

Let‘s celebrate International Women’s Day by celebrating the empowerment of every woman to pursue their life choices. I hope my grandchildren live in a world ruled equally by women and men. OK, maybe a little more women in power than men to make up for the overly-progesterone related calamities of our past.

Spring is for Storytelling. Part 2:
I am thrilled to have been selected as a one of the "Linda Goodman New Voices" at Stone Soup Storytelling Festival in Woodruff, SC on Saturday, April 27. (Festival runs, Fri, 4/26-Sat. 4/27).
Side Bar: While I am neither "new" to this world, nor particularly "new" to storytelling, I am very new to the festival circuit and look forward to the possibilities storytelling continues to offer me. It's wonderful that another New England storyteller is on the bill as a headliner Papa Joe Storytelling.
