📢Reminder! You have today, May 4, or tomorrow, May 5, to cast your vote for this year’s primary election. A couple of things to keep in mind and some heads up about how it works when you get to the polls (see image below or read this):

🔴🔵You will select the party you want to vote for. On the screen, it has a “D” for Democrat or an “R” for Republican. Make sure you select the letter that represents the party you want. If you make a mistake, let the poll workers know and ask for help to correct it.
âś… In Primaries, you are helping to narrow down the candidate(s) in the party you selected. The narrowed down list will then show up on the General election ballot in November. For example, if there are two or more Democrats or Republicans running for state representative, the primary votes will narrow these down to one of each party for the General Election in November.
🟡 If you choose not to select anyone for a position and/or you select fewer people than you are technically allowed to the image below will pop up on your screen. For example, you can select up to 8 Republican delegates in each district but you can choose to select fewer than 8 if you want to; you can select up to 39 Democratic delegates but you can select fewer than 39 if you want to. The screen doesn’t mean you’ve made an error. It is letting you know that you selected fewer than what you are allowed to select. If you meant to do that, you can proceed to the next screen with the “Next” button. If you meant to select the number allowed, you can go to the prior screen with the “previous” button.

Angie Strickler, an active Anderson community member and CLA volunteer, has done monthly recaps of the Anderson City Council meetings and shared them through her personal page since January of 2023. She has graciously committed to continuing the recaps and allowing CLA to post them to our page to increase access to them and keep Anderson residents informed in an easy to understand method. We will share the recaps each month. As a reminder, the Anderson City Council meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6pm in the city government building.

Here is the recap of the March 12, 2026 city council meeting.

CLA’s podcast, Anderson in Focus, will come out tomorrow recapping the March meeting.
