Wag Creek is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue sanctuary in New York’s Hudson Valley, reimagining rescue through bonding, nature, and time.

We are Wag Creek, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue sanctuary located on 180 acres in New York’s Hudson Valley. Our model is redefining rescue and adoption through space, nature, and connection. Our sanctuary provides rescue dogs with peaceful, nature-based environments, intentional bonding experiences, wellness enrichment, behavioral support, and mindful human connection, giving each dog the time

Did someone say BALL? 🐾🎾

Our founder Jason Epstein had the honor of attending the NYC Second Chance Rescue Rescue Ball 2026 alongside some of the incredible people helping bring Wag Creek to life.

This annual gala is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together for animals. As NYC Second Chance Rescue celebrates thousands of lives saved and continues its mission to end unnecessary suffering, we were grateful to be in a room filled with people who care just as deeply about dogs as we do.

While we're still working to create Wag Creek, events like this ground us in why we’re doing this in the first place. We may not have dogs on the property yet, but we’re helping dogs in every way we can by supporting, connecting, learning, and showing up wherever it counts.

Grateful for the community, the conversations, and the shared belief that every dog deserves a second chance.

We are Wag Creek, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary where rescue dogs will be given the gift of time, trust, and connection before adoption.

Set on 180 acres in New York’s Hudson Valley, we are creating a calm, nature-based environment where dogs and people can slow down, spend meaningful time together, and build real bonds.

Through our unique stay, bond, adopt program, future adopters will be able to spend the night on the land with rescue dogs, walk peaceful trails, share quiet moments, and form the kind of connection that leads to thoughtful, lasting adoptions.

We are currently working toward Phase 1 of getting the sanctuary up and running, beginning with the renovation of the barn so our first guests, both human and canine, can experience Wag Creek.
