Today, we celebrate one of our own.

Congratulations to our lone Class of 2026 athlete, Aiga Unutoa, on her commitment and signing her Letter of Intent to continue her academic and basketball career at George Fox University.

Aiga has been part of FBC Alaska since year one. She believed in this program from the beginning and has been a major part of helping build the foundation of what FBC Alaska is today. Her loyalty, consistency, and commitment to the program have meant a lot to us over the years.

We are incredibly proud of everything Aiga has accomplished throughout her journey. The list is long, and every opportunity she earned came through hard work, perseverance, and staying true to who she is.

Grateful for her. Proud of her. And excited to watch what comes next. 🖤

In November, UC Irvine women's basketball made a trip to Alaska to compete in the Great Alaska Shootout.

While they were here for the tournament, they also took the time to stop by Bartlett High School to see Class of 2028 guard Kennedi Gaines during a preseason workout.

That visit turned into something more.

After seeing her in person, UC Irvine extended an offer, something that speaks not just to Kennedi’s talent, but to the work she’s put in behind the scenes.

Since then, Kennedi has continued to build momentum. She also earned an offer from Fresno State women's basketball and had the opportunity to take an unofficial visit to Fresno State last August.

We’re proud of Kennedi and excited for what’s ahead, not just because of the offers, but because of the way she continues to carry herself, work, and represent our program.

We all work 𝘸𝘢𝘺 too hard to be seen — flying to tournaments, playing in front of coaches, to remain stagnant in the recruiting process.

We don't claim to have a fully sponsored program or to even play on the top, top circuit.
