There is a bill in the Alaska Legislature to set and fund a maximum student teacher ratio! If you feel supportive of this type of measure please write your legislators and ask them to hear and support it. The bill is waiting to be heard by House Education Committee. For more information on how to track or testify, feel free to message me!

Hi everyone! Sharing information on how to testify for the impacted budget cuts before the School Board. The Ignite program is specifically named here, however, there are several major enrichment programs and activities being considered as proposed cuts.

Our IGNITE program needs your support and advocacy.

ASD’s elementary IGNITE program is scheduled to be eliminated. Currently, as it stands, 0.5 percent of the overall budget could fund the IGNITE program which services over 2,000 students.

How can you help?

You can send a message to the school board and/or sign up to testify at the upcoming board meeting which is on Tuesday, February 18th.
