Rural CAP Senior Companion Program

Rural CAP Senior Companion Program As part of AmeriCorps Seniors, this program enables Alaskans 55+ to volunteer by providing companionship and assisting older adults with everyday tasks.

Volunteers receive training and a small stipend. A part of the AmeriCorps Seniors Program, our volunteers assist other seniors in their communities who need social engagement and support with daily activities, helping them live independently for as long as possible. This includes visiting with seniors in their home, driving seniors to purchase groceries, helping with internet tasks and more. Many

seniors today face isolation and loneliness. Both the volunteer and the senior receiving help benefit from this valuable connection.
