NEW CLASSES! Starting next week November 23 & 24.
Saturdays - 10:00 Novice Competition. This class is designed for the handler who is interested in trialing their dog in either Beginner Novice or Novice obedience.
11:00 Open/Utility Work Group. This class is for those handlers interested in training their dog for the upper-level obedience classes. Each week the group will decide which exercises to train on.
Sundays - 10:00 Scentwork 102. Dogs must be close to working with odor exclusively. We will be working with the dogs to solidify their odor obedience and training them for the container, buried and interior searches at the Novice level. We will work at the pace that all dogs in the class will be successful.
11:00 Advanced Scentwork. Dogs in this class must be on odor. Hides will be set to challenge dogs of ALL levels. Training on buried, container, interior searches.
1:00 Master/Excellent Rally. No matter what level your dog is at now, you can work with your dog to learn the signs for the excellent and master level of rally. Lots of encouragement and help with understanding the signs and how to train them and do them correctly.
All classes are $100.00 for the six weeks. Drop ins are available for all classes except Scentwork 102. Drop ins are $20.00 per dog each week.
Classes will be held at Cook Inlet Kennel Club. For more information or to sign up please Cheri Hagen.

The Rottweiler Club of Alaska will be holding TWO days of Rally trials this year (February 22 & 23, 2025) allowing the trials to be unlimited entries! With that in mind, I am looking for feedback on interest in us offering the following non-regular classes:
Rally Pairs - Novice. Same course as novice however it's one handler with two dogs working together at the same time. I've actually done this before, and it was a ton of fun. It would be on lead. The dogs can be coupled together, or the handler can use two leads.
Challenge - This course would contain all level signs excluding jumps, exhibitors would not be able to see the course, there are no maps, and you don't get to walk. You simply have to run the course blind. Again, I've trialed in this and had a great time.
Team - Advanced - This would be four people, with their dogs, running the course one after the other. Each person is scored, and the team total is added up. The jump would be set at the lowest jump height for dogs being used. (I.e. if smallest dog jumps 12" all dogs would jump 12"). Goal is to get as close to 400 points as possible. It is also timed. One person starts and as soon as they cross the finish line the next person starts etc.
Any and all feedback is appreciated. I'd love to offer these classes but want to make sure that people would be interested. There would be a lower entry fee since they are non-regular (something to cover trophies and ribbons). You can PM me or post here! Thanks!
