One of our biggest and most joyful events of the year is almost here: Our Time to Shine, a Family Festival at WSU-Vancouver! This event brings our community together for a morning of movement, connection, and fun, including a 5K fun run/walk/stroller, a 1K (0.6 mi) kids’ trot, and a vibrant resource fair with booths, games, food, music, and more.

We would love your help in making this event a success. Here are a few ways to jump in:

Spread the word
Share with your community! Post on social media, send to your email lists, and invite friends, family, and colleagues.

Volunteer
Sign up to help bring the event to life. Have a unique skill or a helper in your life who’d love to contribute? We’d love to hear about it!

Sponsor
Support a specific aspect of the event- refreshments, first aid, goodie bags, or activities. Sponsorship is a great way to showcase your business, even if you can’t attend in person.

Be a vendor
Highlight your practice or business with a booth. Just bring a tent and table- we ask that vendors avoid selling retail products on-site.

Participate in the race
Move your body in a beautiful outdoor setting! Bring your family, coworkers, or come solo- everyone is welcome.

Get hyped and please RSVP for this month’s Meet & Move: Embodied Dance with Cristina of Refuge Counseling and Wellness. We will start with a little mindfulness moment to give us a chance to connect with ourselves and then transition into some simple, guided moving meditation. Then, time for a dance party! We will open the floor and dance the way we want to in the moment! No prior dance experience required. Just a willingness to show up, move, and have some fun! Today we are excited to introduce one of our Seedling Psychological Services Board Members, Kristin Boyd, LMFT, PMH-C.

Hi there! My name is Kristin Boyd and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with my certification in Perinatal Mental Health. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy both from Chapman University.

I am passionate about working with moms who have experienced the unexpected; from fertility challenges and pregnancy loss to hyperemesis gravidarum and birth trauma. As a mom who has experienced the unexpected myself, I focus on creating a safe space to heal from these difficult experiences. With my work at Seedling I hope to create a space where you feel supported and empowered to create the change you wish to see in your life.
