Little Hands Big Trees Little Hands, Big Trees is a volunteer-led project founded by 12 1/2 year-old Levi Voorhies in Louisiana. This project is about more than Christmas decorations.

With a heart for giving, Levi wanted to make sure the elderly in our community feel seen, loved, and remembered during the Christmas season. Little Hands Big Trees began with a simple idea from 11-year-old Levi Voorhies of Anacoco, Louisiana: to bring Christmas cheer to those who may feel forgotten during the holidays — especially the elderly. This is our very first year launching this project, and it’s already being met with so much love and support from our local community. As Levi’s mom, I’ve always encouraged him to be involved in our community and to care for those who are often overlooked. This project was born from that encouragement and his compassionate heart. We believe that small acts of kindness can make a big impact — and what better time to show love than at Christmastime? Each year, starting now, Levi and a team of caring adult volunteers will deliver small artificial Christmas trees to elderly individuals in our area. They don’t just drop them off — they set them up, decorate them with joy, and return after the holidays to gently take them down. Every tree brings a smile, a conversation, and a reminder that someone cares. It’s about connection, kindness, and raising the next generation to serve others with heart. We’re so thankful for every volunteer, donor, and supporter who’s joining us in this first year of Little Hands Big Trees. Let’s spread joy — one tree at a time.

We’re offering Little Hands Big Trees T-shirts this year, and we’d love your support!

Our goal this year is to spread the word about Little Hands Big Trees and hopefully inspire others to get involved and make a difference!

Our shirts are Gildan Softstyle, with three color options for adults (Natural, Sport Grey and Sage) and two for youth (Natural and Sport Grey). All sizes and pricing are included in the graphic below!

Hey everyone,

We are having a "Konas for Kinzley" day to raise money to help the Smith family. My eldest graduated from Anacoco and we currently have a 6th grader there. When we heard what happened it hurt our hearts deeply. We hate seeing any child get hurt and just wanted to help where we can help. And this is how, we will setup & sell Kona's and we will donate 75% of sales back to the family.

God has been so good to us and it's because of Him, we can pay it forward to help them. We hope to see you there and if you can't make it, please continue praying for a smooth & steady recovery for sweet Kinzley. 🩷

One of the biggest things we hope comes from Little Hands Big Trees has nothing to do with Christmas trees. ❤️

We hope another kid sees what Levi is doing and realizes, “I could do something too.”

Levi was only 12½ when Little Hands, Big Trees began last year. Like most things at that age, it started with an idea, lots of conversations, and some help from the grown-ups around him. 😊 But the heart behind it was his, and he worked hard. Together, we turned that little idea into 26 decorated Christmas trees delivered throughout our community our very first year. 🎄

And along the way, we learned something pretty special…

Kids don’t have to wait until they’re grown to make a difference.

This year, we want Little Hands, Big Trees to be about more than our own project. We want to encourage kids to look around their own communities and find ways to serve.

That’s one reason we’re excited to also be participating in Wreaths Across America this year. 🇺🇸❤️ It’s another opportunity for Levi to learn about service, gratitude, and honoring those who have given so much for us.

And we hope other kids will join in too.

You don’t have to create your own community project. You don’t have to have a bunch of money or some huge plan. Volunteer with something that already exists. Help collect donations. Visit someone who could use a little company. Help a neighbor. Serve through your church or school. Honor a veteran. Find something that matters to you and start there.

And parents, grandparents and other grown-ups—we have a part in this too. Sometimes kids just need someone to listen to their idea, help them figure out how to make it happen, and then stand beside them while they do the work.

Little Hands, Big Trees may be Levi’s project, but it has taken a whole lot of helping hands to make it possible, and we are incredibly thankful for every single one of them. ❤️

If there’s one thing we hope other kids learn from Levi’s journey, it’s this:

You don’t have to wait until you’re older.

You can start now.

Little hands really CAN make a BIG difference. 🎄❤️🇺🇸

As summer break comes to a close, Levi is already looking forward to another season of spreading Christmas joy through Little Hands, Big Trees.

What started as one little boy’s idea has grown into a community project dedicated to sharing kindness, hope, and a little extra Christmas joy—one tree at a time.

As we begin preparing for this year’s season, we’d love your help growing our community. Our goal is to reach 500 followers, and every new follower helps us share our mission with more people who believe in making a difference.
