The S.H.O.P. Students Helping Our Peers (The SHOP) is Iowa State University's on-campus food pantry. A supplemental food resource for students.

The S.H.O.P., Iowa State University's (ISU) free, confidential, on-campus food pantry is dedicated to ensuring food security for all ISU students. We operate with the help of our student volunteers and food/monetary donations. Any ISU student may come in during the hours listed, regardless of need. Are you an ISU faculty member, staff member, or student and looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community this summer? 💚

The SHOP is looking for volunteers! Your time makes an immediate, direct impact by supporting Iowa State students facing food insecurity.

⏰ Summer Open Hours:
Tuesday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Now that we’re getting ready for move-out and summer, if you have any extra plastic bags or egg cartons at home, we’d love to take them off your hands! 🙌

We’re currently accepting plastic bags, egg cartons, and in-kind or monetary donations to support students in our community. Donations like these help us allocate our budget to food rather than supplies like bags and egg cartons.

If you’re visiting SHOP, we also encourage you to bring your own bags when possible! 🛍

Last Friday, SHOP partnered with the for a cooking demonstration in the Student Innovation Center's Culinary Creations Lab as a part of their Grad Mixer series. The Graduate College used ingredients commonly found in SHOP to demonstrate two budget-friendly tuna recipes: tuna casserole and tuna sandwiches.

SHOP connected with graduate students, shared about our resources, and provided support during the cooking workshop. We’re grateful to have been part of this event and to continue supporting students! 🙌
