The paperwork indicates as of Aug. 9, when an outside veterinarian came to the store to check on the puppies, including Kota, the 10-week-old was in good health, but needed an antibiotic and nebulizer to help with a possible infection.

That part of the document was covered in white-out.

A Las Vegas valley puppy owner did not know his new family member was sick because a pet store employee whited out information on the dog’s medical record.

After a UNANIMOUS vote, Clark County has just voted to go HUMANE! This affects 13 puppy-selling pet stores!

BREAKING NEWS!

Clark County, Nevada just unanimously voted to prohibit pet stores from selling puppy mill puppies, kittens, rabbits and pot-bellied pigs!

This ordinance affects 13 stores and they will have 1 year to transition to a humane pet store model.

200% interest per puppy.

No. We aren’t exaggerating. Puppy selling stores use lending companies like EasyPay , WAGS lending and Lending USA which charge upwards of 200% interest per lease or loan in order to buy an already overpriced puppy.

It gets worse. In states where there are no legal protections, your puppy can actually be repossessed upon missed payment. And you are still on the hook for the loan or lease even if your puppy gets sick or dies.

Puppy mills and puppy stores are profiting off of cute names and squishy puppies, while banking on the fact that the public won’t research before they buy.

For the love of dog, don’t buy a puppy without seeing where and how the parents live and always google the breeder. You should always avoid buying a puppy in a store as well. Giving money to puppy-selling stores, only keeps puppy mills in business. Or better yet, look for your next best friend at your local shelter or rescue!

The safest thing you can do is adopt your next best friend or look for a reputable breeder and ALWAYS meet the parent dogs to see how they are living.
