It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of retired Pantex Firefighter Stanley Dobbins. Stanley passed away on May 16, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Stanley dedicated his life to the fire service and to protecting others. He started his career at the Amarillo Fire Department before moving to the Pantex Fire Department in 1981, where he spent decades as a reliable, dedicated brother to everyone who served alongside him.

Please keep Stanley’s wife and his entire family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

This week, we pause to remember the life and sacrifice of Firefighter Christopher Brian "Shrek" Hunton of the Amarillo Fire Department.

In a moving tribute on Firehouse.com, AFD Chief Jason Mayes reflects on the tragic line-of-duty loss of Brian in 2005 and the life-saving legacy he left behind: the "Team Brian" seatbelt pledge.

The Last Alarm Fire Company wants to offer our deepest condolences to the Wheeler Fire Department and the family of Chief Ken Daughtry.
The Texas Panhandle is safer because of his leadership and poorer for his loss. We join the entire fire service community in a final salute to a dedicated public servant.
