Serve The City - Altoona

🍁 ALTOONA, WE HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU!

For nearly 20 years, our community has come together to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for those who need a meal, a little encouragement, or simply a place to belong.

We’re exploring the possibility of bringing churches, businesses, and volunteers together again this Thanksgiving through Serve the City Altoona, coordinated by Inspire Broadcasting Network.

Before we move forward, we’d love to hear from you!

Would you or your church, business, or organization be interested in helping make this year’s citywide Thanksgiving dinner possible?

Let us know in the comments or send us a private message.

Together, we can make a difference right here in Altoona! ❤️

Serve The City Brings Community Together for Downtown Altoona, PA Cleanup

People from all different backgrounds and neighborhoods came together Saturday for the first Serve The City- Altoona community cleanup effort, helping remove trash and debris from areas throughout downtown Altoona.

Throughout the day, participants worked side by side collecting bags of litter, discarded items, and debris from streets, sidewalks, alleyways, and public spaces in an effort to help improve the appearance of the city and encourage community pride.

Organizers said the goal was simple: bring people together to make a positive difference in Altoona.

The cleanup effort included families, local residents, community supporters, and individuals from all walks of life who volunteered their time to help make the downtown area cleaner and more welcoming.

Photos from the event showed trailers and truck beds filled with collected trash as teams worked through multiple sections of the city.

Community response throughout the day was overwhelmingly positive, with many residents expressing appreciation for the visible improvements made across parts of downtown.

Organizers say this is only the beginning.

Serve The City - Altoona plans to continue future cleanup efforts and additional community projects aimed at bringing people together while helping improve the city one project at a time.

Just a few photos from today’s very first Serve the City – Altoona project. 👏

Thank you again to everyone who came out, worked hard, and helped make a positive impact in our community today.

It was awesome seeing people from different backgrounds and all walks of life come together for something good. Together, we collected multiple truckloads and bags of trash throughout parts of Altoona and downtown.

This is just the beginning — and we’re already looking forward to our next Serve the City project in June.
