Hey friends,
Just wanted to share a little bit about broke yoke ministries.
My husband Blake Willard struggled with addiction for nearly 20 years. He was in and out of faith based programs. About 8 years ago he was reading in Leviticus 26. When he read verse 13 the words broke and yoke popped out to him appearing in bold letters and he knew the Lord was telling him something. Fast forward… Going on 3 years ago while Blake was in a transitional living facility the Lord called him to begin preaching. The first time Blake preached was at a women’s retreat where I was a residing in a women’s recovery program. We would go months without talking but then the Lord made a way. After graduating my program I moved to the same transition home where Blake was. The Lord continued to call him to preach. We got married and the Lord really took hold of our lives and since the beginning we always felt the need to help people who were so bound by the chains of addiction. We have kept our hearts and ears open to know when God was calling us and showing us it was time for this ministry to become about. A little over a year ago God called Blake and I back to Missouri. At first i didn’t really understand why, but Blake knew it was Gods will. Within four months of being back, God showed me why.
Blake was called to preach at a little country church just down the road from the house we moved into. It has almost been a year since Blake began pastoring at pennwood church in Alton.
The thing about God is, He will continue to nudge you if you haven’t reached full fruition. Blake and I still kept feeling this nudge. Like we weren’t doing something right. This ministry has been prayed about for years. But we didn’t know exactly how we would do it. Well God did! And he has made a way! On March 13 2025 BROKE YOKE MINISTRIES became official! We are a non profit organization helping men who have lost their way in darkness to addiction. By faith, hard work, church support, and love, our mission is to see these men come alive!
Currently we are working on housing situation for these men to live in. We have it lined up so the men that are in the program will have jobs. Nightly bible studies. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to actually take men into the program. But God has made this vision a growing reality! We have a place in mind, that needs a lot of work but we are also looking for land in the country to one day build. Also if the lord puts it on your heart to donate we can get you the info. Or if you know of anyway you can help us just reach out. We are all just learning here, but being obedient to Christ!
