We are excited to share plans for updating the Bandshell Park! 🙌🏽🤩🎉
While this space has served our community well for many years, it is now outdated. The current flooring surface can be unsafe at times and is not fully accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. As our community continues to grow, we want our public spaces to reflect that growth and be welcoming to everyone.
Our vision is a refreshed Bandshell Park that is safe, accessible, and inviting. A place where families and visitors of all ages and abilities feel comfortable playing. This project is about showing what we already know: Alton is a thriving small town with a strong future and a spirit of inclusion. 👏🏽
The total estimated cost of the project is $260,000. The existing main play structure will remain in place, while the swings and additional play features will be upgraded to create a safer, more modern, and more inclusive play experience. The project also includes the installation of turf flooring to improve accessibility, safety, and long-term durability. Through grants, local business and community support, and events, we will be dedicating our efforts to this project for the foreseeable future.
