How do you orient yourself?

How do you reorient yourself when things get challenging and you feel stressed out?

What if we shifted our cultures sights by just 10 degrees, where would that lead us?

These are some of the questions we got to explore with the new class of freshman & seniors this year at Crystal Springs Uplands School

Not only did we explore some questions- We sang, danced, and got to express ourselves!

We had a such a great time and were honored to be a part of such a potent moment in the school year - the first day of the school year 💯

There’s wildlife

And then there’s the wildlife you only meet when you slow down enough to notice it

A beetle crossing the trail - A dragonfly landing on your hand. Something strange under a rock - An animal emerging for food - A frog blending into a rock

One of our favorite things about spending enough time outside is watching the world get bigger

The closer you look, the more alive it gets 🔥💯

There’s no better place to cultivate presence than in the mountains. 💯

Out here, presence isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Being distracted or unaware can quickly lead to tough situations, injury, or getting lost.

But that’s the real beauty of the wilderness. It forces you out of your head and directly into the physical world. One step at a time. 👣🌲🏔️

BTE 💚 Sonoma Academy

Sophomore year, here we go! 🌿🔥

Last Tuesday we welcomed SA’s sophomore class to kick off the year together—tending the land (Thanks Jennifer Becker!) with permaculture practices, learning to tend fire, making beautiful art and gifts with their hands, and calling in their intentions for the year ahead.

Joy, gratitude, creativity, reflection, and real connection—all in a day outside.

We’re stoked to be kicking off what we hope is a long and deepening partnership with Sonoma Academy, helping more young people get outside, get their hands in the dirt, and grow together.
