Protecting Our Seniors from Medicare Fraud

The Milton Senior Center welcomed Jose Pinto with Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) for an informative presentation on Medicare and fraud prevention.

Jose shared valuable information about common scams, misinformation, and the warning signs our seniors should watch for. Our participants had plenty of questions, and several even shared real-life experiences with suspected scams. Jose provided helpful guidance on what to do and who to contact if they believe they may have been targeted.

Thank you, Jose, for sharing your expertise and helping our seniors stay informed, aware, and protected!

A huge thank you to the Roswell Rotary Club for putting together cleaning supply baskets for our seniors!

These thoughtful baskets will be delivered to some of our most in-need clients—seniors living on fixed incomes who sometimes face impossible choices, like whether to spend their limited dollars on needed medications or basic cleaning supplies.

Because of the generosity of Roswell Rotary, our seniors can worry a little less and have one less expense to stretch their budgets around. What may seem like a simple basket of household supplies can make a big difference to someone who is struggling.

Thank you, Roswell Rotary, for seeing a need and stepping up to help our seniors! We are so grateful for your continued support of Senior Services North Fulton.

Honey, Bees, & Hives with Bob Lawrence!

Our seniors had a sweet time learning about the amazing world of bees from local beekeeper Bob Lawrence. Bob shared fascinating insights into the life of bees, the importance of pollinators, and why these tiny creatures play such a big role in our world.

And we’re especially lucky to call Bob one of our Meals on Wheels volunteers! We love when our volunteers share their talents and passions with our seniors.

Thank you, Bob, for a buzz-worthy visit!

A big thank you to the City of Alpharetta and their Music Match program for bringing entertainer Tim Morgan to our senior center! Our seniors had such a wonderful time singing along, tapping their toes, and enjoying the music.

We love seeing our seniors having fun and making memories together!

Thank you, Tim, and thank you, City of Alpharetta, for helping us keep the music playing!

Planning ahead can make all the difference – in your life and the lives of your loved ones.

On August 18 from 10 to 11 a.m., all are welcome at the Milton Senior Center for a free, engaging, educational session on estate planning. This is the forward-thinking process of taking clear, proactive steps for what happens next with your property, belongings, your money, and really your future in order to help minimize confusion and heartache while protecting yourself and your family.

Dawna Williamson, from the Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, will lead this one-hour session explaining why such preparation is important, how you go about it, and what things you should keep in mind during this process. The Tuesday event will be at the Thomas S. Byrd Sr. House (15690 Hopewell Road), the historic City-owned and maintained building where the Senior Center is based.

No registration is required for this event, though you’re welcome to email [email protected] for more information.

Carnival Day at the Sandy Springs Senior Center!

Our seniors enjoyed a fun-filled summer carnival game day, complete with games, laughter, and a little friendly competition!

A huge thank you to the National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) Dunwoody Chapter volunteers for bringing the carnival to us and providing all the games. Your creativity, energy, and enthusiasm made for a wonderful afternoon for our seniors.

We love seeing generations come together to create memories, share smiles, and have a little fun!

Celebrating Karen Fowler's retirement from the Milton Senior Center!

During our morning coffee chat, participants shared memories and stories from Karen’s years at the center, along with a wonderful collection of photos that captured so many special moments over the years.

Friends from the City of Milton stopped by to share hugs and enjoy some cake, along with former participants, wonderful volunteers, and Karen’s incredible fellow staff members. It was a beautiful celebration surrounded by so many people whose lives Karen has touched.

Karen, thank you for the heart, kindness, and dedication you’ve shared with the Milton Senior Center community. You will be missed more than you know, and we wish you all the best in this exciting new chapter!
