P.E.O. Scholar Award recipient Judy Yoo has a passion for both medicine and scientific discovery. She is currently pursuing an M.D./Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati and hopes to become a clinician-scientist who not only treats patients with chronic pain but also conducts groundbreaking research to develop more effective therapies. Her ultimate goal is to shift the current paradigm of chronic pain management, offering individuals a quality of life truly worth living. Judy was nominated by Chapter DP, Ohio.

Founder Suela Pearson was born on this day in 1851 in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1860 her family traveled west and settled in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, where she attended Iowa Wesleyan and met the other Founders. Suela was charming, sociable and a talented musician. We're so grateful for her contributions to the P.E.O. Sisterhood!
