Fostering Laker Success at GVSU We serve students who have experienced foster care or other out of home placements. We provide a supportive network to ensure student success on and off campus.

Together, we work to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that men’s mental health deserves care, conversation, and community.

In 2024, among U.S. men age 18 and older:
20% experienced a mental illness
4.7% experienced a serious mental illness
5.5% had serious thoughts of su***de in the past year
21.3% experienced a substance use disorder
42.1% of men with a mental illness received treatment in the past year

Behind every number is someone who deserves support without shame.

Mental health challenges are common. Seeking help should be, too.

This month and beyond, let’s continue creating spaces where men can speak honestly, ask for support, and receive care without judgment.
