Obesogens are known as “endocrine disruptors” because they interfere with the chemical messaging of hormones to cells by turning on, shutting off or modifying signals. The endocrine system consists of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, and more. Some obesogens affect the number or size of fat cells, while others impact hormones associated with metabolism. Fetal and early life exposure to obesogens may alter fat-cell makeup and metabolism. Adults are at risk, too.

Environmental pollutants may alter the body’s metabolism and predispose some individuals to weight gain.

Glyphosate, the key ingredient in Monsanto’s popular Roundup brand of pesticides, is one of the world’s most widely used w**d killers. It has been determined to be safe, if applied properly, by many regulatory agencies, including those of the United States and European Union.

On May 1, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency even raised the allowable levels of glyphosate residues in food, concluding that based on studies presented by Monsanto, “there is a reasonable certainty that no harm will result to the general population or to infants and children from aggregate exposure.”

American biotechnology has turned Argentina into the world’s third-largest soybean producer, but the chemicals powering the boom aren’t confined to soy and cotton and corn fields. They routinely contaminate homes and classrooms and drinking water. A growing chorus of doctors and scientists is wa…

A new animal study adds to growing evidence that multiple courses of commonly used antibiotics may have a significant impact on children's development.

A new animal study adds to growing evidence that multiple courses of commonly used antibiotics may have a significant impact on children's development. Female mice treated with two classes of widely used childhood antibiotics, including amoxicillin, gained more weight and developed larger bones than…

As more and more people are turning to the drug to treat ailments, the science of cannabis is experiencing a rebirth. We’re finding surprises, and possibly miracles, concealed inside this once forbidden plant.

As the once-vilified drug becomes more accepted, researchers around the world are trying to understand how it works and how it might fight disease.

THERE NO SUCH THING AS !!!!
The USDA's National Organic Program (NOP) presently regulates the definition of organic. According to NOP guidelines, any multi-ingredient product that contains 95% or more organic ingredients (excluding water and salt) may be labeled "organic." Therefore the Copper Sulfate in example, used in EVERY Organic Soil mix as a nutrient... Yet unfortunately, its toxicological classification you will find that, according to the Dangerous Substance Directive (one of the main European Union laws concerning chemical safety), Copper Sulfate is "Harmful (Xn), Irritant (Xi) and Dangerous for the environment (N).
But it gets even more interesting. Part 205.601 of the NOP's guidelines specifies that copper sulfate is a "synthetic substance allowed for use in organic crop production," as long as it is used in a way that "minimizes accumulation of copper in the soil."We can assume, therefore, that its classification as an acceptable synthetic substance for use in organic crop production, it has evaded raising red flags among regulators....

Faced with chemically-watered down USDA Organic Standards, the time has come to look to truly organic agriculture (you know, what our grandparents simply called "food"), produced locally, and whenever possible with permaculture and biodynamic farming practices, which do not allow chemicals of any kind into their self-sustaining systems.

need to hold manufacturers accountable. Advocate the Precautionary Principle, and put the burden of proving copper sulfate, sodium selenite, and various other chemicals being used, turning exposed populations into guinea pigs by using animal-based toxicological risk assessment models to determine the highly Orwellian "acceptable level of harm."
