📚 Algoma Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – Update !!

Hello , we wanted to give everyone an update on why the program hasn’t launched yet. Many of you signed up last October at the Algoma's Halloween Walk, and at the time we thought we’d be starting in January/February of this year.

When the new year came, we learned that the organization running the Halloween Walk is not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This led us to look for another local nonprofit with that status to partner with, as it’s a requirement for the Imagination Library.

We explored a handful of local options, but had hope regarding partnering with the Algoma Library Friends. We love this group (and are members ourselves!), but after much thought, we’ve decided to work toward creating our own 501(c)(3) specifically for Algoma families.

The good news: the program is still in the works, we will not be giving up! The next step is getting our nonprofit status approved by the government. Once that’s done, we’ll be able to officially launch Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library here in Algoma.

We appreciate your patience and support during this process. This has been mostly led by Mrs. Rachel Vandermause, and now a small but mighty team — and we’d love to welcome more helping hands! If you’d like to get involved or support our efforts, please reach out to us via Facebook messenger.

Help us get more books into the hands of children ❤️

If your child is under the age of 5 and lives in the Algoma zipcode 54201, they are eligible for a FREE monthly book until the age of 5! Online registration for our area isn't quite up in running on the site, however, please reach out directly our page here or Rachel Vandermause to get your child, or children, registered.

We would love to get as many children in our area signed up! Currently, we have 64 children registered in our area! 📚💖

If you are interested in donating to our local program to sponsor a child for a year the cost for the year has increased to $31 for a child.

We appreciate any help spreading the word to get more children signed up!
