Light up BMP is tonight at 5pm in the cafeteria! There will be a laser light show, a magic show, and more. Hope you can make it and stay for Winter Wonderfest at Bren Mar Park Elementary School

Please join us on Tuesday, December 16 at 5pm for our Fall for Our Mustangs Fall Fundraiser Celebration! We crushed our top $10,000 school goal and raised more than $22,374.67 for after school activities, field trips, and more. To reward our students and families, we will be lighting up the school blue! Additionally, we will have a magic show and a light show starting at 5:00pm in the school gym to help kick off Bren Mar Park Elementary School's Winter Wonderfest event. This event is completely free and open to all in our community. We hope you can make it!

We are excited to share that our own Bren Mar Park Elementary School PTA was selected for a "Ready, Tech, Go!" grant by the National Parent Teacher Association and sponsored by AT&T. Thank you to our wonderful Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) representative Amy Crolius for leading this effort. In addition to the grant, as a Title I school, we have also been awarded a tech package that includes a laptop, a projector, a color printer, speakers, and more. National PTA announced today the recipients of over $1M in grants and products to support PTAs across the country as they engage families; elevate students’ voice; support educators; and work to make a difference for the health, safety, well-being and success of all students. The funding and products are made possible by AT&T, TikTok, Google, Discord, Norton (part of Gen), the New York Life Insurance Company, The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Bayer, Uber, Kidde Fire Safety and Happy Products, as well as the family of Mary Lou Anderson, as part of the association’s PTA Connected, Healthy Lifestyles, STEM + Families, arts education and fire safety programs and initiatives.

✨230 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each, supported by AT&T, to host an interactive PTA Connected: Ready, Tech, Go! program.

✨98 local high school PTAs/PTSAs have been selected to receive $3,000 each and 8 district/council/region/special education/community PTAs have been selected to receive $5,000 each, sponsored by TikTok.

✨55 local middle school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,250 each, sponsored by Google, to host interactive PTA Connected: Be Internet Awesome & Meet LEO (Learn & Explore Online) programs.

✨20 local high school PTAs/PTSAs have been selected to receive $2,000 each, sponsored by Discord, to host a PTA Connected: Build Up and Belong program.

✨20 local PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each, sponsored by Norton, to facilitate PTA Connected: The Smart Talk digital safety conversations.

✨75 local PTAs have been selected to receive $1,250 each, sponsored the New York Life Insurance Company Foundation.

✨Seven district/council/region PTAs have been selected to receive the 2025-2026 Vape-Free Futures Challenge Grant of $2,500 each, supported by Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

✨40 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each, sponsored by Bayer Fund, to engage families together in hands-on science activities.

✨20 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each to host hands-on engineering design challenges.

✨Two local PTAs have been selected to receive the 2025-2026 Mary Lou Anderson Reflections Arts Enhancement Grant of $1,250 each.

✨20 local high school PTAs/PTSAs have been selected to receive $5,000 each, with support from TikTok and Uber.

✨10 state PTAs have been selected to receive $10,000 each to support capacity building.

✨25 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive over $140,000 worth of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, courtesy of Kidde Fire Safety.

The boundary review meeting is tonight at 6:30pm at Annandale HS to discuss the last minute proposal to change Bren Mar Park's middle and high school! There will be a q&a session with opportunities for families to raise their hands and ask questions (both in person and remotely by Zoom). We hope you can make it and be a voice for our community.

Fairfax County Public Schools is proposing a last minute, unvetted change to the boundary scenarios to change Bren Mar Park Elementary School's Middle and High Schools to Key MS/Lewis HS and to change our ES to K-6. Despite months of boundary meetings, this surprise proposal was never discussed or introduced, nor have we had any time to share and discuss these proposals with our families or consider alternatives. Join us for our next PTA meeting tomorrow (Tuesday December 9) in-person in the school cafeteria at 4:30pm (before Family Science Night in the gym)! We will be voting on major updates to our budget as well as discussing our advocacy plan for the proposed boundary changes. Pizza will be provided and all are welcome.
