Lakes Area Law Dog Foundation Our story began in 1979 when the first K9 unit was added to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in Alexandria, MN.

In the last 40 years, several K9s and handlers have joined and retired from the unit. Lakes Area Law Dogs Foundation formed in 2015 to help provide trained K9s and related services, including financial assistance for training, national certifications, seminars, and equipment. The Lakes Area Law Dog Foundation is a separate entity, but works together with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, receiv

ing funds from community businesses and individuals, in which do not come from the general fund. In advance, on behalf of K9 Hunter and K9 Cain, we thank you for donating to the Lakes Area Law Dog Foundation.
