2025 was a whirlwind and we met so may special bebes and people.

Update: thank you to eveyone who volunteered. His tranfer is postponed due to need for further medical evaluations but he is safe.

Can you help this sad boy? He lost his owner and his home in a fire right before the holidays and is sitting in a cage. He is currently in Woodbridge safe but we need to get him here! Can anyone drive him from Woodbridge to Alexandria on Friday Jan 2?

We have two amazing senior ladies in foster for the holidays and we would love for them to find a home before their foster time ends. Tweet is 14 and amazing. Her foster reports she is the perfect cat, gentle, quiet, and calm. She sleeps in bed and can be wary of loud noises but would be great in an adults only home!

Molly Cricket is 11 and a bit loveable girl who wants lots of pets and love. She will rub on you and ask for it all the time.

Ask about these perfect old ladies and maybe you can be their forever home!

Molly Cricket is a new arrival who has had quite the journey to us. When her owner could no longer care for her, she had a brief stint at a vet school, where everyone saw how sweet and loveable she is. One of her new fans got her to us so she can find her purrfect retirement home.

She is 13 yrs young, a total angel, and because she was being cared for by numerous veterinary professionals, she has gotten a full physical, bloodwork and a dental! All she needs now is YOU.

11 year old scrawny Pippy is so sad, and not thriving in the shelter after losing her owner. She has hyperthyroidism and easily takes her pill.

She's a doll, sweet and affectionate. Dunno how she is with other cats but all fosters must be separated from your pets initially anyway! Transport can be arranged if need be, Pippy is in Berryville, VA, at the Clarke County Humane Foundation .

When we get cats from the shelters, we ask who needs us the most.

Who is the oldest?
Who has been overlooked?
Who needs to learn how to trust humans again?
Who needs medical care that the shelter cannot afford?
Who is the least “adoptable” and may not make it out of a cage?

Some of these cats spend months with us and for some we are their forever home.

Meet Hunter, a handsome affectionate 2 yr old who was waiting for a home for almost a year in NC. Many cats that “age out” as kittens sit in shelters for a long time and people don’t see their real personalities. You would never know Hunter was a lap cat that demands pets and rolls off of couches trying to get love. At Mount Purrnon, he’s ready to meet his new family!
