Khojaly Remembrance & Awareness Day

We are organizing a peaceful and educational awareness initiative in memory of the innocent lives lost in Khojaly.

This is not a political campaign.
It is a moment of remembrance.
A moment of reflection.
A moment to share knowledge and stand for humanity.

On this day, we will distribute informational flyers with QR codes and share sweets as a gesture of remembrance and respect. Through awareness and education, we honor the victims and keep their memory alive.

We invite volunteers who would like to join us in this peaceful initiative.
Let us come together with dignity, compassion, and unity.

Azerbaijan Proudly Represented at Washington’s Annual Turkish Festival.

The House of Azerbaijan with the support of proudly represented Azerbaijan at Washington D.C.’s traditional Turkish Festival — one of the largest and most vibrant cultural events in the U.S. capital, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year.

The Azerbaijani booth and stage performances drew great attention, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage and modern identity. The event served as a beautiful celebration of friendship, diversity, and unity among communities.

At the center of the festival, the Azerbaijan booth — jointly presented by The House of Azerbaijan and representatives of the Azerbaijani community — offered visitors an authentic experience. Traditional clothing displays, colorful brochures, and Azerbaijani flags created a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Throughout the seven-hour festival, guests enjoyed traditional Azerbaijani music, learned about the nation’s history, culture, and symbolism, and explored the mission of the House of Azerbaijan, a secular, community-based organization promoting intercultural understanding and humanitarian values.

Seven volunteers from the CAN Youth and Development Program played an active role in engaging visitors, distributing materials, and inviting youth to participate in upcoming projects. Azerbaijani flags filled the festival grounds — it seemed every tenth person proudly carried one.

For the first time, Azerbaijan took the main stage of the festival with a special 30-minute performance program, combining poetic recital, mugham, live instrumental and vocal music, and the traditional “Innabi” dance. The artistic performance received warm applause from a diverse audience, reflecting the shared appreciation for culture and unity.

Azerbaijan’s participation became a joyful gathering point for the diaspora and friends of Azerbaijan from neighboring states, strengthening the spirit of solidarity, pride, and togetherness. The event concluded with everyone dancing and celebrating around the Azerbaijani stage — a vivid display of friendship and cultural harmony.
