Yesterday the Dads for All Northern Virginia crew showed up at the ALIVE! warehouse on and got to work.

The mission: deliver furniture to families across Northern Virginia who needed it most. Six-plus stops, multiple vehicles, one tight crew of dads. They told us to expect five hours. We were done in just over two. We’re calling it the Dad Speed Run. 🏁

Every role was covered — truck navigation, chase cars, heavy lifting, assembly, and the most important one: connecting with the families we served. Big thanks to our partners at ALIVE! for making this possible and for the incredible work they do in our community every day.

After the route, we sat down together for breakfast. Real talk about dad life. Plenty of laughs. And before we left, the crew had already scheduled the next event and the one after that.

This is Dads for All — and we’re just getting started.

The next D4A Northern Virginia event is on the way. Drop a comment or send us a message to get on the list.

UK dads: parental leave is now a day-one right when starting a new job.

US dads: you need 12 months at the same job before you qualify for any leave at all.

(And when you do? It's unpaid.)

The average American dad takes less than a week off after having a kid. Not because he doesn't want more time. Because the system doesn't give it to him.

83% of parents — dads AND moms — support paid parental leave. The people are ready. The policy isn't.

The people caring for your kids while you work don't earn a living wage.

Nationally, they earn a median of $15.41/hour.
43% of them rely on food stamps or Medicaid.
In no state do they earn a living wage.
In California, fast food workers now out-earn childcare workers.

This is a policy problem. Which means it's fixable.

If you're in NYC, you can do something about it THIS FRIDAY — we're rallying at Speaker Heastie's Bronx office to demand $500M for childcare workers before the NY state budget passes.

📍 1440 E. Gun Hill Rd., Bronx
🕙 Friday March 27, 10am

Want to meet up? Say RALLY in the comments.

Not in NY? Find your state's childcare coalition and add your voice. Every state has a version of this fight.

Big news: Dads for All is expanding to six new cities, building on what we've already built in Philadelphia.

📍 Benicia, CA · Denver, CO · Twin Cities, MN · Pittsburgh, PA · Fairfax County, VA · Cleveland, OH

While others profit from division, we've been doing something different: showing up, forging real relationships, and fixing real problems in our neighborhoods. This is Big Dad Energy in action — and it's spreading.

Dads, here's what we learned from our Philadelphia pilot:

100% of participating Dads felt more connected to other fathers. 100% left more motivated to improve their communities. 90%+ felt more affirmed as dads.

All because a bunch of guys got together, had some fun, and decided to show up for each other and their neighborhoods.

Now we're bringing Dads Stand Up to 5 new cities — and we need local leaders to make it happen.

Here's what you get: up to $4,000 in funding for events, one-on-one support from our team, and a national crew of Dads doing the same thing in their cities.

Here's what it's NOT: political, preachy, or one-size-fits-all. Just Dads, having a good time, and getting stuff done for their communities.

Applications close March 6th. Two or three Dads can even co-lead together.

Movie dads are always trapped in impossible choices: career success or being present for your kids. Ambition or emotional availability. Providing or being engaged.

We're calling BS on that.

How do we make 2026 about rejecting this binary entirely? Being strategic AND empathetic. Driven AND joyful.

Stop accepting false choices and start building a world where our kids don't have to either.

No Dad has to choose between Uncle Phil and Danny Tanner, or Tywin Lannister and Logan Roy.

We keep hearing that men are lonely, isolated, checked out. But in Philadelphia, we're proving something different: give dads authentic space to connect, and they don't just show up—they ask "What's next?"

On 8/22, we’re taking a crew of Philly dads to watch the Philadelphia Phillies take on the Washington Nationals. This isn’t just an excuse to eat a hot dog the size of your forearm… but it’s not not that either. 🌭 (RSVP below)

The goal? Get dads together — in real life — to build real relationships, to not feel like strangers in our own dugout.

Because when dads connect, we find ways to step up for each other, our kids, and our communities.

Come for the baseball. Leave with new dad friends and a few ideas for how to make a difference back home.

The Dad Squad is taking over Citizens Bank Park! Hot dogs. Cold beer. Maybe some home runs. Definitely Big Dad Energy. We're bringing 40 dads together for…

Dads are craving connection — and, also, probably ?

That’s why we’re headed to Philly for Dadness & Mayhem THIS SUNDAY, July 13 at Yards Brewing Co.

It’s not a panel. It’s not a parenting workshop. It’s darts, pool, Mario Kart, and just enough bracket-style mayhem to make it interesting. If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that Dads don’t just need more content — we need more community.

🕑 2–5 PM
🎯 Come to play. Stay to connect.

According to Equimundo’s State of American Men report, the pressures of modern fatherhood — economic stress, loneliness, outdated expectations — are real. But so is the power of showing up for each other in person.

We’re starting small, on purpose. One room. One afternoon. One group of Dads saying: you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

At Dads for All, we believe childcare isn’t a “big city” problem. It’s everywhere—from Brooklyn to Boise.

Our co-founder Justin Cohen teamed up with Reshma Saujani of Moms First to share this truth: When child care becomes unaffordable, entire communities pay the price.

And when cities step up, they can inspire the country. A few lines worth your time (link in comments) ⬇️

This , we didn’t just post about dads — we listened to them.

Through a weeklong takeover on the Showcase app, we highlighted five dad artists whose speaks to the real, messy, meaningful work of showing up for your family while keeping your creative fire lit.

Some of them rap. Some rock. All of them .

And every one brought the kind of honesty and reflection we need more of right now.
