MOTM 2: Pierson Monroe
The team took to Gulfport, Mississippi, this weekend to compete in the Group A 16U Gulf Coast Classic Fall Tournament, stepping onto the field ready to test themselves against strong competition.
While the weekend didn’t end with a win in the standings, there was plenty to be proud of. The team showed up ready to compete, battled through tough matches and never shied away from the challenge. They continued to push, adjust and work for one another from the first whistle to the last.
Pierson absolutely worked his socks off all weekend and had endless momentum in the middle of the field. No matter how physical the game became, and even after taking some hard hits, he got right back up and kept going.
From the midfield, Pierson helped dictate the pace of play and was constantly involved. He did the dirty work defensively, challenged for balls, disrupted the opposition and helped his team regain possession. Then he turned around and helped push the attack forward, connecting play and creating opportunities going the other direction.
This weekend's Man of the Match(es) go to Lincoln Nichols & Pierson Monroe.
