Did you know this week (March 15-21) is National Poison Prevention Week? Children under age 6 make up half of all poison exposures, and drug-related poisonings result in nearly 700,000 visits to hospital emergency rooms each year. To learn how you can support existing poison prevention activities in your community, contact your local poison center at 1-800-222-1222. For more on National Poison Prevention Week activities, check out the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) website here: http://poisonhelp.hrsa.gov/what-can-you-do/national-poison-prevention-week/index.html.

The National Poison Prevention Week Planner below will help you plan and implement activities to raise awareness of poison prevention during the third full week of March each year.
