👶 NDT Intervention for Children with Neuromuscular Disorders (Course )
📍 Marlton, NJ | 🗓️ May 15–16, 2026
Led by Kimberly Westhoff, OTR/L, C/NDT and Debbie Evans-Rogers, PT, PhD, PCS, C/NDT, this seminar will provide NDT intervention strategies, including direct handling for the pediatric client with neuromuscular difficulties. The focus will be on expanding the clinician’s clinical reasoning skills through an understanding of contemporary NDT, the NDT Practice Model and principles, the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework, and their application to intervention. Functional limitations and impairments will be addressed using specific hands-on strategies to improve functional mobility and postural control with children during daily life skills such as ADLs, play and community participation. Participants will be assisted in improving their handling skills while problem-solving using the NDT Practice Model.

One of those beautiful NDT moments you had to be there for…
but if you missed it, you still have one more chance! 💙

One of the most powerful moments from the NDTA 2026 Conference was our patient and family panel. It was honest, moving, and full of perspective on what truly matters in care. These conversations remind us why we do this work in the first place. And now, you can still experience it.

🎥 The NDTA Conference On-Demand Package gives you access to all recorded sessions, including moments like this.

Available only until May 3

Don’t let it turn into “I wish I had seen that…”

The impact of occupational therapy shows up in so many ways, often in the moments that matter most. 💙
This month, we’re taking time to recognize the people behind that impact. Whether it’s helping someone regain independence, build confidence, or reach a personal goal, OTs make a lasting difference every single day.

What if mobility and upright postural control are the foundation for respiration, oral function, and meaningful participation across the lifespan? 🤔
This 3-hour interprofessional course explores “Mobility and Upright Postural Control and Their Impact on Respiration and Oral Function through the Lifespan” and highlights how addressing trunk, pelvic, and thoracic mobility can influence pain, weakness, neuromotor impairments, and functional independence.

From infancy through aging populations—including individuals with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and genetic conditions affecting rib cage, shoulder girdle, and pelvic mobility—we’ll examine how postural control directly impacts respiration, oral function, ADLs, and social participation like eating and communicating with others.

Because when mobility improves, everything else can open up.

🖐️April Community Connections: Pediatric OTs Get a Grasp Using NDT

How do we build meaningful grasp skills in pediatrics and what systems need to work together to make it functional?

Join us for an OT Month Community Connections session focused on using NDT principles to better understand and support grasp development in pediatric clients.
We’ll explore how clinicians think through assessment and treatment planning for grasp, including the interaction of key systems, postural control, and upper extremity function, plus how the NDT Core Principles and the ABCs guide clinical reasoning from preparation to function.

Led by Mary Hallway, OTR/L, C/NDT, this interactive discussion will include shared strategies, clinical tips, and real-world application to help support your pediatric practice.
