Our friends over at Tarheel Weimaraner Rescue are in need of support to provide life-saving exploratory surgery for just one of the emergency medical-needs animals in their program. This sweet girl is Fibi.

If you’re able, please consider a tax-deductible donation to their program!

Fibi Update 💔

Today has been a very long and emotional day for sweet Fibi. Unfortunately, she was still feeling lethargic this morning and was not acting like herself. In fact, she seemed to be getting worse instead of improving, so her foster family immediately took her to CARE in Charlotte, our emergency specialty hospital.

For those that may not know, CARE is one of the best specialty and emergency facilities around and has every type of specialist and surgeon you could possibly need when things go wrong. We are incredibly thankful that Fibi is there and in such good hands right now.

She has been at the hospital since this morning undergoing extensive testing including bloodwork and an abdominal ultrasound. During the ultrasound, the doctors discovered a mass in her abdomen. Right now, we simply do not know exactly what it is. It could potentially be a cyst, a hematoma, an infection, or something entirely different. At this point, the only way to get answers and help Fibi is exploratory surgery, which she is scheduled to undergo tomorrow.

Please continue to pray for this sweet girl tonight and tomorrow morning. She has already been through so much in her short time with us, and all we want is to get her healthy, comfortable, and back home with her foster family where she is loved so deeply.

The estimated cost for Fibi’s surgery and hospitalization could reach up to $8,000. With three dogs currently in medical care, the rescue could truly use support right now. If you are able to donate, share this post, or simply keep Fibi in your thoughts, we would appreciate it more than you know.

No matter what happens, Fibi WILL get the care she needs. We will find a way. We always do.

We will update everyone again tomorrow as soon as we know more after surgery. 💙

🩷 Weimaraners and mixes and Doodles, oh my!!

While we have taken a hiatus from social media for some time, we are as active as ever, and currently it seems as though we are taking dogs in by the day.

We are now going on sweet 16 years of federal recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization.
If you have followed us for some time, you'll know that we have taken in other breeds, cats, and mixes, to now include Goldendoodles.

We have two wonderfully special Doodles in our program who are looking for their loving forever homes. Please reach out to us directly with any questions/interest: [email protected]

Thank you! 🩷

❤ Tilly is one of a number of Weimaraners currently in our care, and we are looking for sponsorship for her spay surgery and vetting.
The care for the dogs always comes first, which leaves our small team very little time to feature the majority of the dogs who come through our program.
While we are working to ensure Tilly is comfortably on the mend, we need your help: please consider making a tax-deductible donation towards our expenses, which are thousands of dollars each month.

❤ Dear Friends,

TPWR is happy to welcome sweet, tiny Tilly into our rescue program.

Coming from the streets of Tijuana, MX, after living on a trash pile and scouring for any little scrap for food, Tilly arrived scared and underweight.

Our volunteers were amazed how petite this young female Weimaraner really is. She is under 35 pounds.
Compared to the other dogs in her foster home, she appears just like a 6 month-old puppy, but we think she is probably at least a year-old.

Since her arrival, Tilly has been loved by her amazing human and canine foster family members. She is adjusting to living in a home, learning how a soft bed feels, and that she is getting nutritious, regular meals.

We want to thank all of you for sending your support for Tilly in form of gifts from her Amazon wishlist or donations for Tilly’s care through our website. We so appreciate all your support!

We were contacted about a very petite and fragile juvenile female Weimaraner in need of rescue, and have agreed to assist her. Not much is known about her history; she is frightened and malnourished (like so many we assist). Her body is full of wounds & scars, particularly on her back end, and she is receiving immediate medical care.

While our volunteers work to ensure her health & safety, we could certainly use your assistance. As always, we are a very small federally recognized nonprofit organization who operates throughout the Southwestern US and Mexico; We exist solely through public support.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation towards this girl's care:

You can also securely donate via Zelle: [email protected] is our associated address.

Additionally, we have set up an Amazon wish list for anyone who would like to send something her way: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/23S3B5AW04YVL?ref_=wl_share

Thank you and please check back for updates.

Dear Friends,

If you have followed us for some time, you'll know that it has been well over a decade that we have been assisting animals in need. Although our social media presence has been minimal the past few years, we are as busy as ever. Our group consists 100% of unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly on the ground and out in the field, working with our partners, all for the dogs.
There are many Weimaraners and like-breeds whom we've been able to help throughout the Southwest and Mexico this year, and unfortunately we anticipate that 2024 will be no exception in terms of need.

With that being said, we are always in need of more teammates as well as financial support. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. If you are interested in donating, the direct link is: www.weimaranerrescue.org/donate.

As always, you may reach us directly: [email protected].

The sweetheart in this photo is Bambino, a special-needs puppy who came in with a serious yet non-progressive congenital health condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). While in rescue he became a patient of
an incredible neurology team, received the best veterinary care, and is now thriving in his adoptive home.

Thank you, as always.
