Walk with a Doc - Albany, NY

Walk with a Doc - Albany, NY A healthcare provider gives a brief presentation on a health topic and then leads participants on a walk at their own pace. We take it one step at a time!

Our chapter is powered by the Albany Wellness Project, LLC. Walk with a Doc is a nonprofit started in 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir, a cardiologist in Columbus, Ohio. The program now extends around the world with hundreds of communities getting together to walk with local healthcare professionals on a regular basis. Each free event begins with a short health discussion, followed by the opportunity to

walk together as a group. Learn more about the history of the program at https://walkwithadoc.org/overview

Since that first event in 2005, Walk with a Doc has grown as a grassroots effort with a model based on sustainability and simplicity. The doctors currently leading our walks are Dr. Jesse Hilsen and Dr. Jim Saperstone. For most of the year, we walk at or near the Pine Bush. When snow makes that challenging, we will walk on quiet, cleared, residential roads. The program allows participants to safely take a walk, learn about current health topics, and meet new people. We hope to see you at our next walk! We are part of an international nonprofit – Chapter # 37268
