We maintain a free-roaming shelter housing over 120 cats, as well as a foster program that takes in several hundred kittens, momcats, and adults each year.

This petite sweetheart came to Whiskers as an injured pregnant stray. Bella is affectionate, playful, and loves cuddles, laps, pets, and making biscuits! She adores other cats and would prefer a feline friend in her forever home. She is also calm around cat-friendly dogs.

Rocky B left the streets behind and is looking for a patient, loving home where he can settle in. He enjoys cats and dogs and would love some furry friends in his forever home. Rocky is FIV+, but FIV is not contagious to people or other animals and is very difficult to transmit between cats. He can live with other FIV+ cats or non-aggressive FIV-negative cats.

Meet Domino, a 9-year-old girl who would like to formally announce that she is NOT a fan of shelter life... but she is capable of being sweet when she feels safe.

Just watch her in this video. One minute she's giving you the classic Domino attitude, and the next she's rolling onto her side like, “Fine. You may admire the soft belly-adjacent fluff.” 😂

Domino is looking for a calm, cat-free home with an experienced adopter who understands that trust takes time. She's vocal, has opinions, and may give a little nip when she's overstimulated, so she's looking for a child-free home where her person will learn her cues and let her set the pace.

But underneath that tough exterior is a much softer girl. Domino has enjoyed sitting in her foster mom's lap, and we believe there's a loving, affectionate companion waiting to emerge once she has the peace and security of a home.

📋 Tuxie would like to file a formal complaint.

He has reviewed the situation and would like to know WHY he is still available for adoption.

Let’s go over his qualifications:

🖤 Handsome? Obviously.
🤍 Tuxedo? Obviously.
😻 Loves people? Absolutely. He’ll follow you around just to make sure you don’t accidentally enjoy five minutes without him.
🏠 Wants to be your one and only cat? YES. And frankly, he sees this as a feature, not a flaw.

Tuxie is FIV positive, but he has already solved the biggest potential problem himself. 😂

FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, and Tuxie would prefer not to share his forever home with other cats anyway. So… problem solved! ✅

FIV cannot be transmitted to humans, dogs, or other non-feline animals. And FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives with proper care.

So basically, Tuxie is looking for someone who wants a loyal, handsome, slightly opinionated personal shadow who has absolutely no interest in sharing you with another cat.

He was rescued from the streets of Albany and is approximately 2 years old. He’s ready to trade his street life for a forever home.

Tuxie’s only question is: HOW ARE YOU PEOPLE NOT FIGHTING OVER HIM YET?! 😹
