I had so much fun and cant stop looking at Reagans pictures. For years I havent had many photos of her, because she isnt the easiest to work with.. and I usually need to hold her in family pics. But, I made the scenery fit HER. Which gave me an idea, I want to do something special and give back to a family in our community. 🫶🏻

🍯 NO TRICKS, JUST HONEY & THE WORD! 📖
We don't want to participate like the rest of the world, but we don't want to close our blinds and hide either.

We are called to be the LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS! 🕯️So this year, As For Me & My House Ministries will be setting up a table in town on trick-or-treat night, handing out Bibles, sharing the Gospel, and reminding our community that there is hope in Jesus! (Albany & McArthur!)

We currently have 50 Bibles, but we're praying to collect at least 25 more before that night!
We're also looking for donations of:
🍯 Individually wrapped honey sticks
📖 Children's and adult Bibles
🤍 Scripture bracelets and bookmarks
🧼 Small hygiene items for families in need
💌 Gospel tracts and Scripture cards

Monetary donations toward purchasing these supplies are also appreciated!

We're not there to celebrate darkness. We're there to shine His light.

Maybe someone will come looking for candy and leave with the Word of God. Maybe someone will stop who desperately needs prayer. Maybe a seed will be planted that changes an eternity.

Not every autistic child just needs headphones, a dark room, and a little time to regulate.

Sometimes autism is profound.
Sometimes it means being completely non-speaking and relying on AAC to communicate. It means diapers beyond the toddler years. Safety beds, locks, cameras, wheelchairs or being carried. It can mean no danger awareness, elopement, self-injury, aggression during meltdowns, sleepless nights, and needing another person watching and helping nearly every minute of the day.
Sometimes “accommodating autism” isn't simply turning the music down. It's changing the entire environment so that person can safely exist in it.
And I think this is where profound autism families sometimes feel left out of autism conversations.

We absolutely need to talk about sensory needs, acceptance, stimming, headphones, quiet spaces, and different ways of communicating. But that isn't the whole spectrum.

There are autistic people who will likely need significant support their entire lives. There are parents wondering who will change their child's diaper when they're 30. Who will understand their sounds when they're 40. Who will keep them safe when Mom and Dad aren't here anymore.

That's autism too.

Profound autism isn't less worthy, less beautiful, or something we should hide because the harder parts make people uncomfortable.

If we're going to say “accept the whole spectrum,” then we have to actually make room for the whole spectrum. ❤️

What if someone showed up at your door and said, “Go take care of your baby. We’ll take care of the house.” ❤️

Because for ONE local autism family every month, that's exactly what we're going to do.

A-Town Cleaners has volunteered their time to come alongside an autism family who just needs a break and help get their home back in order.

And listen... this isn't because your house is dirty or because you should be able to keep up better. We KNOW what life can look like behind closed doors for autism families.

Sometimes you've spent all day helping your child through meltdowns, keeping them safe, running to therapies and appointments, making the same safe food for the third time... and that pile of laundry just isn't important anymore.

So tell us what would make you breathe a little easier. Maybe it's the kitchen that's gotten away from you, the bathrooms you haven't had time to scrub, the floors, laundry, or honestly... ALL OF IT. 😂

You choose what would help YOU.

This is exactly what I want this little ministry to be. Not just telling people Jesus loves them, but showing them.

Sometimes being the hands and feet of Jesus looks like showing up with a mop and saying, “We've got this. Go sit down for a minute.” ❤️

If you're an autism family in or around the Athens area and you need this, PLEASE reach out. There is absolutely no shame here. This is what community is supposed to look like.

And PLEASE TAG the autism families you know around Athens and the surrounding areas. You never know who is barely keeping their head above water and would never ask for help themselves.

Autism families need Jesus… and sometimes we need somebody to come clean our house, make a meal or just sit with us. 😂🙌

No seriously.

When you're keeping a child safe 24/7, running to therapies, navigating meltdowns, fighting for services and just trying to keep everybody fed and alive… sometimes the house is the first thing to go. And after a while, you don't even need advice. You need somebody to walk in and say, “Girl, I got the dishes. Go sit down.” 😂❤️

So I have an idea.

⭐️⭐️ As For Me & My House Ministries is looking for a cleaning company OR just an individual with a heart to serve in the Athens/McArthur area who would be willing to occasionally donate a few hours to help a local family raising a child on the spectrum.

You don't have to own a business. You don't have to commit every week. Maybe it's one family a month. Maybe it's just whenever you're able.

I just want to start finding practical ways to love on these families and help them feel human again.

Because sometimes being the hands and feet of Jesus looks like prayer… and sometimes it looks like showing up with a mop and some Dawn. 😂🙌

Let’s walk in obedience, together. ❤️ The Lord already gave us our marching orders.

Bring them in. Make room. Make disciples.

All people need the Gospel. Autism doesn’t change that. Disability doesn’t change that. Needing extra support doesn’t change that.

Jesus never told us to only make disciples of the people who can sit quietly, communicate typically, or fit neatly into the way we’ve always done church.

Our babies belong in the Body of Christ, too.

Until ALL have heard. 🤟🏻❤️
Now go, make disciples.

Today, I helped an autism mom get approved for SSI and get help with getting a cubby bed 🥹

This!!!!!! All I want is to let other autism parents know they are seen, help you with resources, talk to you about Jesus and love on you!
