Council Leader Myron Getman and Secretary Kim Jensen had the honor of participating in two important events over the past week! Kim attended SEIU's Member Political Organizer's Convening over the weekend and learned about engaging members in the political process to help move labor issues forward.

Myron was on the floor at the NYS AFLCIO COPE Convention today with other PEF leaders! The delegates debated endorsement of political candidates, deciding how to use the power of labor to better our communities and working conditions!

At both events, the Starbucks Workers Union and their call for a boycott until they get a fair contract was a common thread. Myron brought this call to the floor at COPE Convention. He took a point of privilege to make sure delegates are aware of the boycott. The point was met with applause and cheers by the body! Workers support workers! Starbucks Workers have been fighting for a contract for 5 years.
