Our speaker last week was Glori Coronati, the Executive Director of Free Indeed, a nonprofit that identifies survivors of human trafficking and offers a path to recovery and healing. She shared examples and insights about the situation in and around Albany.
We presented her with a book to be donated to the Dougherty County Public Library.

📚✨ The Rotary Club On The Flint recently had the privilege of reading to the students of Westtown School in South Albany! We shared the heartwarming story When Someone Is Afraid by Valeri Gorbachev, teaching kids how to handle fear with comfort and courage.

This week's meeting was about the Ferst Readers Program.Their mission is to provide quality books and literacy resources to children. Our club has the opportunity to provide two kindergarten classes at Westtown Elementary School through the Ferst Readers books. Andrea Revills, one of our members, discussed how we, as Rotarians, can make a difference in the lives of children.

We had the pleasure of seeing the progress of the Phoebe Trauma & Critical Care Tower. Phoebe is definitely transforming emergency and critical care delivery for southwest Georgia. Our club members were educated, during a tour, on all the new and improved services that will be provided for SWGA!

We were so grateful to have Dr. Griswold and District Governor Gordon Owens at our meeting today. Albany Technical College has been a strong supporter of our club and serves as a gracious weekly host through their Culinary Department. Our District Governor shared information on the impact and vision of Rotary and rolled his sleeves back to help with our service project. We prepared necessity bags for the youth and families from Open Arms, Inc. Today was full of all kinds of goodness and ROTARY MAGIC! ❤️

The Rotary Club On The Flint, Albany, Georgia, was chartered December 28, 2023. A Charter Ceremony was held Monday, January 8, 2024. DG Andrè Marria presented Club President Walter Kelley and President-Elect Brenda Hodges Tiller the Club’s Charter, the Theme Flag and the Governor's Personal gift.

She charged the Club to Create Hope in the World by working with passion and purpose the objectives set forth in a well-developed Strategic Plan. Charter members were charged to work to increase giving to The Rotary Foundation and to grow membership. DG Andrè expressed the importance of making the club experiences meaningful and fun, through strategically planned activities that are welcoming as well as inviting!

Each member received a Theme Pin. They were pinned by AG Rene Smith, GRSP Trustee Angela Smith, District Treasurer Teri White and PDG George Gr***de. Great Fellowship and fun was shared by all in attendance. A great Congratulations to this club as it Helps Grow Rotary!
