Hairy Haven

Hairy Haven Senior sanctuary and animal rescue organization The idea of Hairy Haven began in 2007 with a 17 year old Siamese named Ursula.

She was nearly blind, almost deaf, and was left behind with her five siblings when her owners both passed away. A rescue group took her and one brother in but the others were too sick to be saved. As it was she was skinny, extremely matted, and had terribly rotted teeth. We adopted Ursula and her brother Dracula, brought them home and loved them every moment they were alive. They both had so much

love to give, despite their advanced age. Ursula died in 2011, very much loved and in our arms. This prompted us to think about the other senior animals out there who need a chance, either to live in our sanctuary until it is their time to pass or to be transported to another safe home for adoption. And, for them, Hairy Haven was established.

Hairy Haven is a program under Hill Hounds, (http://www.hillhounds.org/), a non-profit organization established with an objective to provide safe, temporary or permanent home for cats and dogs when their owners are not able to take care of them and to help animal shelters by taking in the less adoptable animals. Hill Hounds is a 501(c)3, private, non-profit organization and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
