💙🏓 PICKLEBALL WITH A PURPOSE! 🏓💛

We are SO excited to share this amazing event benefiting Motif Sober Living! 💙

One of the things that makes this so special to me is knowing that my friend Deanna’s daughter, Caroline and her friend had the heart and vision to put this together for Motif. 🥹💙 It means more than she probably realizes to see someone young recognize a need in our community and choose to use her gifts to make a difference.

The Terrell Academy Pickle with a Purpose Charity Pickleball Tournament will be held September 12th at Dawson Country Club, beginning at 9:00 AM!

One update we wanted to share to answer a lot of people’s questions is that Motif is a medication free recovery model. That has always been part of our vision and the standards we’ve committed to.

When we first started, we were warned that if we held to those standards, we’d probably have a hard time filling the beds. But we didn’t start Motif just to fill beds.

We started Motif to be faithful to what God called us to do. We believe God is sending the right women at the right time, and we believe He can heal, restore, and set women free through working the steps, getting into God’s Word, and building a relationship with Jesus.

So we’ll continue trusting His timing and His plan.

We are all about glorifying God and testifying of His goodness here at Motif, so it’s testimony time!

Four years ago, when we became incorporated as a nonprofit and made our big announcement, we were almost instantly blessed with a van by Lena Waldrop. Y’all…a WHOLE van! Not just any van, but her beloved mother’s van, who is now resting in heaven. What makes this story even sweeter is that Lena has faithfully held onto it for us for the last four years, waiting for God’s perfect timing.

And recently, God did it again! Charles Proctor took the van and generously donated new tires, an oil change, a new battery, a full tank of gas, and even had it washed and ready to go.

God is so good, y’all! This van is going to be such a blessing as we serve the women of Motif and continue walking out the vision He gave us.

Just for fun, I had ChatGPT create a mock-up of what it could look like wrapped in our logo, and now that’s become part of the vision too! If anyone has recommendations for someone who does vehicle wraps, please let us know.

We are continually blown away by God’s provision and by the people He places in our path. Thank You, Lord, for reminding us that where You guide, You provide.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation we received from Suzanne Harper and the Fisher Crum Foundation. We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Suzanne at the WIN (Women in Networking) event hosted at Motif, and what a blessing that meeting turned out to be!

Her kindness, generosity, and belief in our mission left us truly humbled and encouraged. We are continually amazed by the way God provides through the hearts of others.

Just a few months after founders were racing to meet fire safety requirements and raise money for a sprinkler system, Motif officially celebrated the opening of its new women’s sober living home Thursday with a ribbon cutting attended by supporters, volunteers and community leaders.
