Volunteer Highlight: Kathy Zack
Kathy Zack first connected with Alpha Care after spotting a volunteer flyer at her church. She filled out our online volunteer form, and before long she was monitoring classes, helping with nutrition, parenting, and Bible studies.
Today, Kathy continues to serve at our Bennington center whenever she can—supporting Center Director Erin, monitoring classes, and even leading every third Bible study. Her willingness to step in wherever she’s needed has been an incredible blessing to both our team and the families we serve.
When asked what makes volunteering at Alpha different from other opportunities, Kathy shared, “The clients and the difference we make in their lives. To actually be with them, support them, and walk alongside them... I just love that Alpha is like a family to them.”
For anyone who may be hesitant about volunteering, Kathy has simple but meaningful advice, “Start small. Help organize the boutique or monitor a class. Then you’ll find yourself doing a little more and a little more—and before you know it, you’re serving in ways you never imagined!”
She also shared a heartfelt message for those who financially support Alpha Care, “People would be amazed by how appreciated their gifts are. Even the smallest donation can make a difference. We hear that all the time, but it’s absolutely true. What may seem small to the giver can be life-changing for the person receiving it.”
Kathy, thank you for the compassion, encouragement, and faithful service you bring to Alpha Care. Your heart for our clients and your willingness to serve wherever you’re needed make a lasting impact, especially at our Bennington center. We are so grateful for you! 💙
