389 construction workers died from falls last year.

Falls remain the leading cause of death in construction across the U.S. That is why May is recognized as National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls, an OSHA-led initiative focused on workplace fall prevention and safety awareness.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing trainings, safety efforts, and moments from the field as we continue supporting workplace safety across our region.

Preventing falls starts long before an accident happens.

Follow along this month as we continue the conversation around worker safety and prevention.

Today is Workers Memorial Day, and it’s a heavy one.

We’re taking a moment to remember the workers who lost their lives, were injured, or became ill just for going to work. No one should leave for work and not make it home, yet it’s still happening far too often.

The truth is, a lot of these losses could have been prevented. That’s the part we can’t ignore, and it’s why this day matters so much.

We don’t just remember. We keep showing up. We keep pushing for safer workplaces, stronger protections, and real accountability for the people doing the work every day.

Mourn for the dead. Fight for the living.

If this matters to you, stay connected with us. This is the work we’re committed to every day.

Most people don’t think about this until it hits close to home.

Until it’s someone on your job.
Someone in your family.
Or you.

A worker dies every 99 minutes.
Thousands more are injured or exposed to conditions that should never exist in the first place.

And the truth is, most of it is preventable.

That’s why this work matters.
That’s why we train.
That’s why we show up.

If you’ve ever worked in conditions that didn’t feel safe, this is for you.
If you’ve ever been told to “just deal with it,” this is for you.
If you know someone who didn’t make it home, this is for you.

We’re not just remembering.
We’re pushing for change.

Join us this Workers Memorial Day.
April 28.

You’re invited: Workers’ Memorial Day – April 28

Every day, workers go to work expecting to come home. Too many don’t. Every year, thousands of workers across the U.S. die from job-related injuries. Many more suffer from illnesses caused by long-term exposure, often without realizing the risk until it’s too late. These deaths are preventable. ...

No one should lose their life just for going to work.

Every year, workers are killed, injured, or made ill on the job, incidents that are often preventable. Workers’ Memorial Day is a time to come together, honor those we’ve lost, and recommit to fighting for safer workplaces for everyone.

We’re not just remembering, we’re demanding change.

Join us on April 28 as we stand with workers, uplift their stories, and push for safer conditions across every industry.

Showing up matters.

We were proud to be part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Job Fair earlier this month, connecting with workers, sharing resources, and continuing conversations around what safe, fair workplaces should actually look like.

Because access to jobs matters.
But access to safe jobs matters just as much.

You shouldn’t have to risk your life just to make a living.

Too many workplace injuries and deaths are preventable, and that’s exactly why this work continues.

As we move through Workers’ Memorial Month, we’re holding space for those lost and pushing for safer conditions for everyone still showing up to work every day.

A worker dies every 99 minutes in the U.S.

Let that sit for a second.

As we continue recognizing Workers Memorial Month, we’re sharing what’s often overlooked, who is most impacted and why that matters.

Black and Latino workers are facing higher risks on the job. Not by chance, but because of the conditions, protections, and systems many workers are navigating every day.

This is about more than numbers.
It’s about people. Families. Communities.

This is why awareness matters.
This is why we keep showing up.
And this is why this work continues beyond just one month.

Learn more, stay informed, and stand with workers.

This month, we’re holding the line for safe jobs.

Worker Memorial Month is a time to remember the lives lost due to unsafe working conditions, and to speak on what’s still happening to workers every day.

More than 380 workers die each day, and thousands more are injured from conditions that are preventable.

We don’t share this to overwhelm.
We share it because it matters.

Throughout this month, we’ll be sharing more about workplace safety, the realities workers face, and why this work continues.

Mourn for the dead. Fight for the living.

04/05/2026

April is Workers Memorial Month.

This month, we intentionally bring awareness to the workers who lost their lives on the job—and amplify the ongoing fight for safer working conditions.

Because this work doesn’t start or stop in April.
But this is the time we push it forward, louder, together.

No one should have to risk their life to make a living. Yet for too many workers, that is still the reality.

On April 28, we will come together with local unions and the Capital District Area Labor Federation to remember, reflect, and recommit to protecting workers’ lives.
