Body Recovered from Mohawk River Identified

The body recovered from the Mohawk River in Niskayuna, New York on April 24, 2026, has been positively identified as Malachi Fennicks, a 21-year-old resident of Schenectady.

Mr. Fennicks had previously been reported missing to the Schenectady Police Department on March 3, 2026. Following an investigation, the cause of death was not found to be suspicious.

The Schenectady Police Department would like to thank the New York State Police Dive Team, Niskayuna Police Department, Canadian Pacific Police, Niskayuna Fire District #1, Niskayuna
Fire District #2, and the Alplaus Fire Department for their assistance and support during the recovery operation.

The Schenectady Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Fennicks during this difficult time

Have you seen this woman? Hope C. Holligan, 46, has been missing for 2 weeks. She was last seen in area of of Lafayette St and State Street, in Schenectady, on Wednesday 4/1/2026.

Hope is 5’6 tall, weighing about 100 lbs. she has brown, shoulder-length hair. She may be using a walker or a cane.

If you have seen Hope, or may know her whereabouts, please immediately call the Schenectady Police Dept Detective Division at 518-382-5245 or 518-788-6566.

Schenectady Police Attempting to Locate Missing Adult

The Schenectady Police Department’s Detective Division is attempting to locate Hope C. Holligan, 46-years-old, of Schenectady.

Hope was last believed to be in the area of Lafayette Street and State Street on April 1, 2026. She is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 100 pounds, with brown, shoulder-length hair. She may be using a walker or a cane. A recent photo has been provided below.
